Hi! My name is Marla

I've kind of been lurking for a bit but I thought I'd finally post. I'm 13w3d - due July 30th! I'm 27, hubby is 29 and we spent about 6months going through fertility treatments, one failed IUI cycle and 1 successful IVF cycle! This is our first baby and this pregnancy has certainly been a roller coaster ride! We initially had twins but lost one at 6w and we are so grateful that we still have one strong baby! Did our NT scan everything looked good and thought we could relax a bit until the anatomy scan..
I'm starting to realize you can never relax lol. I am a Pre-K teacher and got a call Friday night that there is a child I have had contact with that has Fifths Disease and passed it along to another child. It's a common childhood illness but very contagious and can have negative effects on pregnancy if the mother is not immune. So now tomorrow I'm going in for bloodwork to see if I am infected, trying to stay calm because its a slim chance I am infected but now I'm just worried about going back into work, how many other unknown illness do I have to worry about

I know everywhere we go we are exposed to others with all sorts of sicknesses but being around so many children has me stressed now.
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with fifths disease and/or how your protecting yourself during pregnancy?
Thanks! These boards have been so great during my 1st adventure in pregnancy!
Re: Introduction! ...and kind of worried (long)
The best thing you can do is wash your hands frequently & don't touch your face/food unless you've just washed hands.
Good luck I hope you get good news!
Also welcome!
