Anxiety and no sleep

A few days ago someone posted a poll about being worried. A lot of people posted about being fine until bedtime...well here I am trying to sleep and can't because my mind is racing.

Besides my usual worries of money, my weight, and my lo I feel like a failure at my job and I'm constantly thinking I'm going to get fired. I started a few months ago and the training wasn't as detailed as I would have liked it to be. I'm picking up stuff as I go but I feel like I'm missing a lot.

Anyone else up being worried?

Re: Anxiety and no sleep

  • My mind is always racing. It takes me a good 3 hours at least to fall asleep at night once I get into bed. It also makes napping impossible. It totally blows

  • That is so frustrating! I had that the first couple months of his life.

Also I remember you are in a Sales position in a small town (right?) and I just wanted to say I have been there.  I have felt that almost crippling anxiety and fear.

I don't know if you would feel comfortable enough talking to your Manager? I had a new boss and was really stressed out because unlike my previous supervisor I had NO IDEA what he thought of me so in one of our meetings I asked him "where do I stand?"  I would rather know I'm lagging behind his expectations than think I'm 'safe' when I'm not.

Having said all that I was also seeing a counselor to help me manage.

    Best of luck to you!

  • I have talked to my manager and she knows how I feel. The crazy part is my manger has told me I'm doing ok since she knows what training I've had. I think I am my own worst enemy.

Lol I've even thought of posting our offers for our kids accounts on here (for those with branches in the area).

  • It's great your boss understands! Give yourself a break!

  • I have been falling asleep better but will wake up around 3:30am from LO or just because. I never fall asleep until DH's alarm goes off at 5 And LO is always up by 6 sometimes earlier. Sucks. I know it's hard but try not to stress. Hope you figure out something soon anxiety messing with your sleep is exhausting.

  • I've always been a worrier, but it escalated after my little guy was born. There was one day in particular that I remember sitting at work and feeling like my heart was going to pound out of my chest. I just began sobbing uncontrollably and for no reason!

My OB put me on a very low dose of Zoloft and I haven't had as many issues with anxiety or feeling sad for no reason. It does make me sleepy at night, but not so sleepy that I don't hear my son cry.

I never listened to anyone when they told me to sleep when the baby sleeps, because I was always so anxious. But, now, I find my naps with him on the weekends to be the most peaceful sleep I've ever had!

    Best wishes to you!
