Lullaby

I am not a fan of lullaby music. Does anyone know of some good lullaby music that is non traditional like the Beatles or skid row?!

Re: Lullaby

  • Have you heard of Rockabye Baby? We have the Radiohead and Coldplay renditions and they are fun. Here's a LINK.

Other than that we just go for the real thing, music-wise. When DS1 was a baby "When I'm 64" was his favorite "lullabye" and I sang it to him every night.

  • I like Lullaby Themes (Children's) on Pandora. They play a mix and it's pretty good.

  • @moosebaby2011 - we live by the Radiohead Rockabye Baby CD.  We sleep trained Xavier with it and he still listens to it every night.  We'll start the new baby on it soon :)

We have tried the Johnny Cash and Day/Night compilation versions as well.  Not as good as Radiohead but definitely very soothing.

  • I also recommend the "Rockabye Baby" CDs. We have Queen, Aerosmith, Prince, and Kanye West. (The "Gold Digger" lullaby version is awesome.) Our favorite is Queen, but all of them are awesome - and it's a nice change from the constant lullabies you hear.

  • We just listen to our regular music for now. I figured we have awhile before becoming chained to children's music.

  • Thank you @brideandbreve @luvdelilah and @moosebaby2011. I was so intrigued by the concept of rockabye baby after you three suggested it that I checked them out immediately. FI, DS, and I are in love!

  • I used Jim brickman and George Winston with dd1.  Not lullabies, but piano music if you are not familiar.

  • I just checked out rockaby version and they have it on pandora. It's great. dH really got into it and we played a guessing game of which song was playing. It was great except he insists on buying the radiohead version now and I want to rip out my ears at the thought of listening to that! I've put in my time of listening. to. every. Single. Radiohead. Album. Ever. Made. On. Repeat. Over. And. Over. Again. For. 8!!! Years!!! Arghh!
