Stay at Home Moms

Well that's just great. Now it happened here too.

We had a shooting at a mall in our area today. I think three people died and a few more were in the hospital. It's right next door to the hospital where I delivered DS at. I am so sick of this shit.

  • I read that online today.  The one in MD?  I'm sorry, but glad you and your family weren't there.

  • I heard about that. Ugh, so horrible. I've given up hope that we'll ever have any common sense restrictions regarding gun control, though.

  • is it 20/20 that's on friday nights?  I saw a preview for next week's episode.  It's all about kids and guns.  People that keep loaded guns in their house and how easily even a toddler could get ahold of it?  That was freaking me out just watching the preview!  I swear when DD gets old enough to go to friends houses I will ask if they have guns and where they keep them, just to make sure these people aren't idiots.

  • Not many details. It happened in the Zumiez store. Two dead including the shooter. 5 hurt in the panic.

There is speculation that the three knew each other, but again they have not released any details.

  • I just read two dead plus the shooter and they think it might be domestic dispute related.
  • It's never going to end. :(  My cousin lives there and was planning on going shopping at that mall today, I'm so glad she didn't.

oh you live in HOCO so does my friend. I was really sad to hear about this today, they were down the street at her son's basketball game when it happened.

We're actually in the next county but close and have been to that mall frequently. I had weekly BPPs at my MFMs office at the hospital and stopped.in to shop all the time. Just stupid. On one hand it does make me feel a little better that it wasn't necessarily random but there's no excuse and just no reason. Ugh.
  • So scary! These shootings are always such terrible news, but it becomes so much more real when it's close to home. :(

  • I live in the DC Metro area too. I can't believe a shooting happened this close to home!
  • I used to live in the area and have shopped in that mall more than once. It really is crazy, isn't it? Really, really sad that things have come to this.
  • It's getting bad...horrific, unheard events are touching all of us. Nothing shocks me anymore, and that's not right. Malls, schools, movie theaters -- nowhere is safe anymore. We were at the theater in our little suburban town watching Frozen around Christmastime, and I looked around to be sure there weren't any suspicious looking people near us...wth!

Funny you  mention this.  DD and I saw Frozen by ourselves in the theatre and I was scoping everyone out too.  There was a guy that came in with a long black trench coat on.  I couldn't help but keep my eye on him.  It's sad what it's come to these days.
