Headaches from growing babies at 31 weeks?

Just wondering if any of you started getting really bad headaches from the weight of the babies and/or from them growing and it pulling/stretching your tummy? My twins suddenly must have grown so much that I am having a hard time standing for more than a few moments because it pulls so much that I get an instant headache. And it's also stretching my belly so much that it's causing constant pulling pressure. Do you feel this way too?

Re: Headaches from growing babies at 31 weeks?

  • Yes! I did. In fact in my 8th and 9th month, it was a challenge to even shower, let alone stand and cook. My feet were swollen so badly that they looked like an elephant's feet. I had terrible headaches, pelvic pain, back pain, and my nights were sleepless. I struggled to even sleep on my recliner. My OB/GYN suggested to take Benedryl just so that I could sleep because I was awake like an owl for 3 days and nights! Hang in there my friend. I know it's really tough with two in there.

  • I didn't get headaches, but I did ask my OB around 29 weeks if she was positive that my abs weren't going to rip apart before I delivered.  She assured me they wouldn't, and they didn't.  But it still hurt like hell.

  • Haha @legallyblonde217 I know that feeling all too well! At some point you figure that physics has gotta take over and something's gotta give, but somehow it doesn't. Truly amazing. My abs separated really bad with my 10lb second singleton, so I can only imagine how I will come out of this pregnancy! Ah, plus side is that I've got the perspective to know that somehow our body does manage to go back (not exactly the same usually, but pretty close).

Today I've got both babies sitting on each hip...so totally not comfortable!!
  • Toward the end of my pregnancy, I had Baby A with her head pushing on my cervix and Baby B with his feet up behind my ribs.  It was uncomfortable to say the least.  I was also so full of baby that I couldn't eat much.  I was on hospital bed rest the last 4 weeks and my nurses would get so worried when I didn't order lunch.  I had to explain that if I ate lunch I would have to be done eating for the day because I'd be too full for dinner.  I'm only 5'2" so I just didn't have the room for 2 babies AND food.  Haha
