Please help! I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed differin. I was concerned and started researching. I'm pretty sure she is wrong and I shouldn't be using it.
I'm neither an OB nor a derm, and I don't play one on TV, but the internets told me this. Did you ask the internets, too?
Teratogenic effects. Pregnancy Category C. Retinoids may cause fetal harm, when administered to pregnant women. Adapalene has been shown to be teratogenic in rats and rabbits when administered orally (see Animal Data below). There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Differin Gel, 0.3% should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. The safety and efficacy of Differin Gel, 0.3% in pregnancy has not been established.
Hi there. I work in a derm office. Differin is not acceptable for pregnant women or breastfeding women. You can use finacea gel and/or clindamycin gel. Those are prescriptions and they are safe. I hope this helps!
@Dstingwoods thanks for the info. I used it for two nights. Will that have an effect on my pregnancy? My doctor's office is closed. Thanks for your help.

I'd just stop using it and then call your doctor when they open. There's nothing you can do right now. Just in the future, make sure to always mention you're pregnant and see if anything will have an adverse side effect. Good luck.
Re: Can pregnant women use differ in for acne? If not, what can I use.
