@bebemac definitely and SO many people who missed the point that if her post was simply redundant and annoying she would have gotten a few eye rolls, but that she crossed the line in referring to "fake pregnancies" hence the flames.

What is a fake pregnancy? I always think about that girl in high school who said she was pregnant and wasn't and never left school to have a baby.

And first semester had me rolling. I haven't finished reading yet.

I haven't thought about this in years so I'm a little fuzzy on details. A friend-coworker of mine when I worked at a restaurant here in town had a, for lack of better-real words, false pregnancy. I think she must have taken a home pregnancy test that came back positive. I don't remember that she had a lot of symptoms, but she might have and I didn't know about it. I'm not even sure when or how she finally found out that she wasn't pg but it must've been at the Drs. Just all of a sudden she wasn't pg and hadn't been. They said it sometimes happens with someone who is really trying to get pg but not being successful. That is truly all I know about such, so if it's misinformation, I am as ignorant as they come about that, so apologies ahead if that's the case!

I think if she would have just said she was sorry for calling it a fake pregnancy and not knowing what the correct terms were things wouldn't have gotten so bad.
I didn't have symptoms at 6 weeks and was concerned but I did some research and figured things out.
We are all either FTM or have been or are going to be and there are going to be dumb questions. I have made dumb comments and I have tried my best to make appropriate apologies when needed.

Sounds like a chemical pregnancy to me.

ETA: I don't think you can "will" yourself to have a positive test, but I have heard of people who have had symptoms while not pg, which is why if there was a positive test I would lean more toward chemical.

I didn't even know I was pregnant at 6 weeks. I think I found out right after.... Maybe it was the 6th week. Looking back I realized there were symptoms right away (constipation and bloating, heightened smell/taste, oh and a missed period), but I had no clue!

I'm pretty sure she meant chemical pregnancy and/or false positives and just used the wrong term because she's not very articulate.

But she did apologize! The girl is not that bright, clearly, but I didn't get any kind of maliciousness from her post and they just zoomed right to: "ZOMG you're mocking women who had miscarriages!" Which she pretty clearly wasn't doing. I was just like:

Meh... I didn't read the entire thread, but for once the WKs seemed to be correct to me. A lot of those ladies were just being bitchy.

It's too bad that you are having a lot of ms and the OP wasn't -- that's not a reason to attack her. There was nothing in her post with a tone of "I'm awesome, I'm not sick at all and you ladies who are are somehow inferior!" It was pretty obvious she thought she might have gotten a false positive and was looking for info.

Some folks on here are just looking for a fight regardless though.
