Headed to the ER

To have a pilonidal cyst drained. I'm terrified as this isn't my first time dealing with this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy the pain is excruciating and is even worse while being drained. But I've gotta put my big girl pants on and deal.

My brother has the same condition and said it is a nightmare. I have a cyst issue too, but not on my tailbone. I empathize!!

Update: they wouldn't drain it because the cyst wasn't visable from the outside so I have to deal with the pain until either it goes away or get so bad it's visable from the outside. Until then school from 9-2 Monday/Wednesday should be fu.

Sucks! I had a giant gross sebaceous cyst behind my left ear that got painfully infected last month. They did the drainage in my doctor's office and were able to use lidocaine (but not epinephrine - so it really bled). Also, my doctor skipped the antibiotics they usually give due to the pregnancy. I had to do packing, cleaning and draining of the wound every two hours at home. Crazy, but the pain was so much easier to deal with once the procedure was done. Sorry to hear you have to wait!
