braxton hicks, cramps or regular contractions?

Hi ladies,

so last night I was shopping at babies r us with my hubby, when all of a sudden I get this strong cramp like pain in my lower abdomen. I didnt think anything of it bc I though it was BH. Last about 30 seconds. Then kept coming back and the pain was also a little around my belly button. The pain and uncomfort last until I wentto bed. Then I had another short cramp like pain this morning when I woke up. What could these pains be? After the one this morning, I decided I was going to call my dr. If it persisted, but it hasnt  happened again. Any of you ladies experienced this?

    It's Braxton Hicks. They can get stronger at tomes as you go along. When it's real deal, you will have no doubts and it won't stop over night.

    Either Braxton Hicks or Round Ligament Pain.  I wouldn't worry about it at this point unless they are coming consistently every 10 minutes or so for an hour.

    I was wondering about this too, because I was experiencing a similar thing today- though not as constant as you described it. It felt like mild period cramps (hurting, but not horrible pain). I thought to myself that they must be Braxton-Hicks, esp. because when I changed position it stopped. But when I read about BH, everyone says things like "They're not painful, they're just an uncomfortable tightening feeling."  Not really what I was feeling, so now I have no clue if I was right or not. At any rate, they've stopped.

    Most of my BH are just an uncomfortable tightening, but in the past week or so I've had a couple that were accompanied with cramping and a little painful. Since I don't usually have more than one of those at a time, I figure my body is just getting ready and doing more dress rehearsals now.

    My doctor told me my period like cramps were Braxton hicks. I get them randomly but there's never a time table to them. I also get the random tightening as well.
