September 2014 Moms

Boo hormones, yay DH!

So this just happened...

I said "I really want a donut," and DH said "I'll take DS and go get you one." And then I started BAWLING.

I can hardly handle living with me. When I am done hanging out next to the toilet, I am nominating DH for sainthood.

AW your DH/SO - what's something sweet they've done to help make your first trimester a little less miserable?

  • DH gives me nightly back rubs and always tells me I'm "working so hard" when I'm exhausted or grumpy.

    It's wonderful.

  • DH has told me several times lately that he really appreciates me and everything I do around the house. He has been helping a lot with dishes. And tonight when I said I wanted ice cream for supper, he didn't even bat an eye. He was like, "Let's go to Dairy Queen and get you some!"

I made myself eat a normal dinner instead. But I'm digging into the Dutch Chocolate in the freezer tonight!

  • The Hubbs has been doing pretty much all the dishes since we got our BFP.

Also, after 2 years of talking about it, he started moving all of his (enormous) CD collection out of the jewel cases and into paper sleeves that will be stored in cute boxes so we can have more room in the big closet. Is this what men look like when they're nesting? I know it doesn't sound like much but I am very happy to see those jewel cases for cds that we never listen to going in the recycling bin.
  • Yesterday he bought an entire basketball team hot fudge sundaes so that I could stop and have on after our game. And the dog has pooped in the floor twice and he won't "let me" clean it because he doesn't want me near germs

  • He's been very sweet - running out to pick up dinner, bringing me water or ginger ale when I feel nauseous, and he didn't go to the gym today because he knew I was sad about something. ♡ him!

  • When he isn't traveling for work My DH has been on dinner duty for DS and for us and MIL bc I can't stand the smell of most food. Plus, he gets up with DS in the morning and takes him downstairs to start his day so I can sleep in.

  • I am so jealous of all of your DH's. MY DH doesn't even ask me how I am feeling :( Granted he is really busy at work and has been coming home late. But it would be nice for him to take intrest in me without wanting sex bc I am not up for sex at all

My DH has been being very nice and getting me drinks when I ask for it, letting me sleep in, keeping the stepkids quiet when I'm sleeping, etc.  However... I am jealous of those backrubs.  Maybe when I'm bigger he will do that?  *fingers crossed*

  • I'm so happy you all have some great hubs too. Mine went out at 8:00 this morning to get me an avocado so I could have a breakfast sandwich, that he then came home and made for me.

  • My DH has been awesome too. He lets me sleep in on his days off, changes DD2s dirty diapers and just listens to me gripe. I would drive myself nuts, but he just accepts it and empathizes. Maybe since it's the third time around he's just used to me.

  • My DH had one complaint/vent session last night because everything has been falling on his shoulders. I'm talking taking care of a 2700sq ft house and parenting two daughters while listening to me complain about morning sickness. I really need to do something special when Valentines Day rolls around and I am back in the land of the living.

  • Mine has been great as well. He deals with my crazy emotions and stays so positive about everything while I am a bawling mess. He's cooked dinners and went out last night after a 12 hour shift because I decided I wanted Sprite for my nausea.
