Sorry to be a pw today!

How long did you/do you plan to use your monitor?

Mh thinks we will just move E's camera into deuce's room, and not use a monitor for E anymore. She will be around 2 when that happens.

I figured we would use the monitor till she graduates and moves out.

Thoughts?

Not sure what we will do. Assuming we have #2 in our room for about 6 mo, that would mean we could keep monitor in #1 room until then, at which point he would be over 2 1/2 which would be ok for me to not use the monitor as much I would think. # 2 could nap in #1 room if I need the camera on the baby.

You are too funny!

Our plan is to use it in G's room until we need to put it in a younger sub's room. If FET works, that means at the earliest G would be about 22 months (so, I'm guessing, still taking one nap). But who knows.

I have a nice moto.rola video and don't feel like spending money on another.

I haven't really thought about moving it, I guess I just figured we'd get another camera and have one in each room, if #2 comes anytime soon. Our video monitor can accomodate up to 4 cameras. I'm waiting for the day DS climbs out of his crib and opens his door, so I guess we'd wait until he's old enough to be in a bed safely.... or college, whichever comes first.

Can you get another camera? We have the Motorola video one and a second camera can be added. Honestly I think will use ours for a while. I just really like being able to see him.

Shoot I don't know when I will stop using it. I plan on buying another eye ball thing for the wall so I can toggle between the new baby and DS' room. I am guessing at age 3? That way I can see what his little butt is up to

Well I seem to be in the minority here since we only have an audio monitor and I am considering turning off the one in our bedroom. I can hear LO if he cries except if we are in the basement. If I had a second LO I know I'd be able to hear both of them on the one monitor as long as it was somewhere upstairs. I don't think you need another one. If E is old enough to scream and call your name or get out of bed to come get you I think you don't need a new one. Is she still going to be in a crib? Or are you moving her to a bed?

We have the Motorola one too, so I was just going to get a second camera. Naps are fine without a monitor, but we can't hear her from our bedroom overnight without the monitor.
We are planning to keep her in a crib for now. I just don't think she's ready for a big girl bed. Or maybe it's just that I'm not.

I'm totally in the until-she-moves-out camp. I can't imagine I'll take her monitor out for a while. Our bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house. That'd just make me nervous. I'm probably a freak though!

How far is E's room from yours? I haven't ever used a monitor because our rooms are side by side. I close both of our doors and we all use white noise. I can still hear DS when he needs tending to.

We just purchased a second base station and one extra monitor when the twins were born. We still have a monitor in DS1's room, and he'll be 3 in a few months. Honestly, the bedrooms upstairs are close enough together that we probably don't need one for DS1 anymore. I like the nannies to have it when they are here though, so it's still helpful for those times.

I'll definitely use a monitor with DS until he's well into toddlerhood. It's SO great to be able to see what he's doing, even though I can hear him from my room. I would probably go in way too much if I couldn't see that he's actually laying down and sometimes even sleeping when he cries out.

When #2 arrives in October (FX), we'll just have a second camera set up.
