Washing swing/bouncer covers

Does anyone have any experience washing the covers for swing/bouncers/nappers? I'm planning on washing mine before baby gets here and I'm not sure if it's ok to put them in the dryer. Also, is there any fabric softener safe to use on baby items or no just use the free and clear detergent & no fabric softener?

    I washed the cover to all three things you named in baby detergent. Then I followed the drying instructions to a T because I feel like the dryer kills stuff. The bouncer and napper pad went in the dryer and the swing covering was hung up to air dry. Everything came out perfect! I didn't use fabric softner at all.

    I washed the swing cover in cold water on the delicate cycle. Dried it per the instructions. Tumble dry low. I also used fabric softener.
