TTC after 35

Warning!! Waiting to ttc (3 months) after D&C

The re nurse said to wait 3 months ttc after D&C ...my H is all for that so lining is good. My worry is each month my clock is ticking because I'm 41. I can get pregnant easy but haven't held them since son. My husband thinks it's my lining..so that's why he wants to wait...any ladies here wait or just went a head when able?...any thoughts?

  • I don't have any advice, but I do want to say that you are adorable (I just looked at your photo) and you do NOT look 41!  <:-P

I am so sorry for all that you've gone through, it really sucks that we have to deal with the ticking clock on top of everything else. ((hugs))

I don't think you'll find many on these boards who would ever recommend going against doctor's orders, it could be a dangerous thing to suggest.  I truly understand the urgency you're feeling, but you have to weigh that against the guilt you would inevitably feel if you went ahead and then had another loss.  Over on the TTCAL board where everyone is there dealing with the aftermath of loss, many with multiple losses, the common theme seems to be that those who went ahead too soon and had another loss feel incredible guilt about their decision to defy doctor's orders.  Ultimately no one can tell you what to do, it's your decision, but I don't believe doctors tell women to wait for no reason - whether you're 41 or 21, your body needs to heal.  And having had three losses in around 6 months, your body has been through so much, I'm sure your doctor isn't suggesting a three month wait lightly - he knows your history and is doing what he thinks is best for you, your body, and your future fertility.

  • You're a youngin' at 41 compared to me, lol j/k.  I personally wouldn't go against the RE's orders.  Why take the chance that something bad could happen?

I was recently at a doc visit after my loss and my RE said that a few months doesn't make or break your chances.  So try and stay positive that the couple of cycles you have to wait will make no difference in your fertility. Hey just think you get to go back to BDing just for the shear pleasure of it.  At this point, I barely remember what that was like :D

  • I know the urgency to get pregnant again after a loss. You think if you are pregnant the pain from the loss won't be so bad. But I wouldn't go against your doctors.

They did testing on the tissue and maybe something will be found that is correctable. Give your body and heart time to heal. I know it's hard but you have a very supportive husband and us so three months will fly by.

Taking up yoga and going away sound wonderful. I wish I could do that.

    Big (((hugs))) to you.
