Oh Texas weather....

Ice, sleet and snow today in the Houston area (a real rarity) and 60 and sunny for the weekend. Most school districts closed, as we don't have the vehicles equipped to handle real winter weather nor enough de-icing trucks to handle this area. No school district wants to send busses out in icy weather with drivers who rarely drive in those conditions. Snow day it is! Get to stay at home with my boo today and cuddle!

    Yay snow day! We (Iowa) had 0 degree weather with crazy wind yesterday and today is supposed to be 40. Wth?

    Enjoy it! I was in TX a few years back during the ice storm in Dallas right before the Super Bowl was there and was blown away at how everything shut down. Just interesting what you get used to based on where you live!

    Yeah, we always get laughed at by the north when this happens. Our freeways have very high bridges and we are a city of car commuters. When you are talking about 6+ million people in Houston and the surrounding suburbs and most of us drive cars, ice makes for very unsafe roads around here. We are definitely not equipped to handle that type of weather since it only happens once every few years (thankfully!)

    For sure! You stay safe! I'm definitely not poking fun just was seriously taken aback since I'd never been anywhere other than home during winter weather until then.
