Trying to Get Pregnant

False Negative

I normally start my period a week later than the normal 28 days. This month I'm currently 3 weeks late and I took a test last week and it was negative. I'm going to retest and if it once again is a negative should I worry or wait once again another week to retest?

Re: False Negative

  • Test once a week until you reach 60 days without a period.  If you get to 60 days, call a doctor about your long cycle.

Technically, your period isn't late, you ovulated later than usual and that's why your period hasn't shown up.  You can chart your BBT (basal body temp) for free with Fertility Friend and that will take the guess work out of why your period is "late."

  • Lol @ the title "false negative". This test says I'm not pregnant... clearly the test must be defective!

How do you know when your period is due? How do you know you are "late"?
I use the P Tracker app so I have an idea when I start. I always start my period between 29 - 32 days into my cycle.

    Nope Nope, and more Nope.

You need to track your Basal Body Temperature. Those apps are as useless as useless could be.
    How do I do that?

Go to the store and buy a basal thermometer. (very cheap). Then go to fertilityfriend.com and read up on the tutorials.  Temp first thing in the morning before you do anything else. Rinse. Repeat.

Everybody starts somewhere. You have quite a bit of research to do. I suggest you get to reading.
