My DD is 13 months old.Her growth has been very normal as far as teething, crawling, eating habits and even started walking recently. The issue is that she does not respond to her name. She loves music, recognizes her fav songs, her fav cartoon characters. But However much we call her even scream her name she just does not have a reaction of any kind. This is really getting me worried as I was just going thru stuff and they say that this could be one sign of Autism.Sometimes I feel I am over reacting and at times I feel this is abnormal behavior. Please advise.
Re: DD not responding to her name
There are 3 reasons (that I can think of) why this could happen.
Early autism sign - BUT, if it's the only sign.... it's highly unlikely. Try taking this quiz to see if anything else jumps out at you. And, if so, speak to your Dr.

Hearing challenges - do you notice her not responding to any other sounds? Perhaps a quick audio test (we've had this done a few times since DS had tubes put in). Does she have a lot of ear infections? If so, there could be ever-present fluid in her ears, making everything very muffled.
Absolutely nothing at all - DS doesn't respond at all when he's intently doing something else. I don't have developmental concerns at all... but sometimes he's just very focused on whatever else he is doing. And, I know he can hear fine (from our audio tests)
A quick discussion with your pediatrician about your concerns coupled with other information you can provide for him, will likely be enough for him to suggest more testing if it's necessary!
At our 18 month old pediatrican appointment which we went to at the beginning of January, I answered a quiz for a screening for autism. Some of my answers were "not sure." But based on my answers, our pediatrician referred us to a neurologist for an appointment to screen more for autism.
My daughter has an issue with her middle ear and hearing low tones. So we are waiting to go to an appointment for specialist at the end of January.
Our appointment for the neurologist is in March, and our pediatrician wanted to see us back at 22 months to see how our daughter was doing.
