I'm looking to branch out a little bit with our bath time routine. I feel like at this point DD is big enough to handle a little more rigorous bath. Any suggestions would be great. Our current routine is like this:
1. Fill baby tub (props up in the sink) with warm water.
2. In separate bowl, fill with soapy water and several washcloths.
3. Place baby in tub, wash body then face.
4. Swaddle in towel.
5. Football hold and wash hair over sink. <= She is getting way to big for this and I'm still petrified of getting water in her eyes/ears
6. Dry and dress.
I have tried bathing her in the tub, but she just wants to stand and I'm worried she'll slip and fall.
Re: Bathtime routine
Jack gets a bath everynight because of his helmet. I just soap up his hair and hold my hand to his forhead like a salute and poor cups of water over. Very little water gets in his eyes and when it does it doesn't phase him.
I fill his penguin tub in the big tub. Plop him in and let him play. Use his submarine toy to pour water over his head. Soap him I with a washcloth. Use the submarine to rinse him. Pick him up and rinse him with fresh water. Then dry and dress.
I get water in his eyes. We have a cue from swimming class that we use in the tub too so he's ready for it.
Edit to complete half finished post.

I guess I shouldn't be as worried about her getting cold, or water in the eyes anymore. Maybe this means I can retire the football hold!
He plays until the bubbles disappear or he gets too sleepy. Then I lay him down on this recliner thingy my mom got me for the tub and wash him up. Daddy comes in and dries him off. voila done! in all he is usually in the tub for about 15-20 mins - he loves loves loves bath time.
He is starting to get more adventurous in the tub and reraches out for toys or the edge of the tub, but I'm there ready for anything the whole time so I'm not so worried. And water splashing onto his face and in his eyes doesn't seem to phase him at all.
He also gets a bath every night as part of bedtime routine and it has helped so much in relaxing him enough that he goes to bed without an issue almost all of the time.
