Hi ladies
I had my anatomy scan this morning and was told then that babe looks great and is a girl which is awesome and that the doctor didn't need to see me after the tech reviewed the scans with him.
Then when I got home from work I had a call from my OB maternity clinic and the doctor told me that they noted a small cyst on the umbilical cord near where it attaches to baby and that I have to have another ultrasound in 4 weeks.
She also said it was noted on the report they just want to monitor it and that it usually would not cause any adverse outcome.
I've been online checking it out, perhaps not very wise and there can be very bad outcomes but usually only if other anomalies are present. My 12 week nt scan was excellent and probabilities of anything very low and baby has looked good on this and earlier scans. Usually however the cysts that go away or don't amount to anything are found in first tri. This was not detected then but only now at 18 weeks.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm really trying not to worry but after my miscarriage last year it's hard. Any words of wisdom out there?
Thanks sorry for the rambling and possible SS thread
