My husband is taking a week off. I am concerned about taking care of my 14 month old after a c-section ( I think I am going to need another section this time too). We have an Aupair for regular daily care but, she only works 45 hours per week so I think I need additional help in the late afternoon until DH comes home from work. I think my mom is going to come for the second week.
Both my husband and I are in the military. he gets 10 days. That includes the weekends on both ends
Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect 4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11 Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:( Baby #4: 10/12/11 BFP! 4th septum resection on 5/31/13. Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!
My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!
My husband gets 2 weeks off paid. He could have more if he wanted, but it would not be paid. I'm having a Csection so it will be nice that he is home to help.
I think DH gets two weeks paternity leave, but last time he only took 3 days. My mom came into town for a week then my MIL came the next week. Now that we have a toddler at home he's planning on taking more time even with help from our moms.
Neither of our jobs offers any paid maternity/paternity leave. Fortunately my husbands sick time has no cap so he will be taking 2 months off! I am going back a few days a week once I physically recover so I can stretch the leave I have
My husband doesn't get paternity leave. He's a college coach so he doesn't have vacation time, either. He's in season now so how much time he spends at home will completely depend on when she is born. He will be traveling every week Wednesday-Monday starting in two weeks through the end of March, with the exception of the end of February/beginning of March when his team will be on their 13 day road trip. If I go into labor right before he is scheduled to leave on a trip he will skip that trip and stay home/at the hospital until Monday. If she were to be born at the start of the week he will still travel as planned. So, at most, 3-4 days I guess. But I'm sure he will still be working and going to the office/practice during that time.

My husband will taking off a few weeks. His work colleagues expect that he will take off at least two weeks and have been preparing lectures and getting everything ready so that others can take over for him. He might have to respond to some emails, but that's about it.
My husband is in an appreticeship program, he spends 2 weeks in the shop, and 2 weeks in school. He can take fmla, but is choosing not to and will use vacation time instead. If I go into labor while he's in school he can only take 4 days off to not have to repeat the semester. If he's in the shop he'll take the entire week off.
No paternity leave here but DH will take off 4-5 days. Like last time just enough time to be at the hospital with me and a day at home depending. We have an almost 2 yr old and it will be my 2nd C-section so Dh has no choice but to do the carrying of DS for a little bit. But he will be going to daycare during the day.
Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born.
6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived
10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP
Mine saved about half his vaca time, and had to use it before Jan 1, so he got 2 weeks off paid. But it wasn't pat leave.. It was straight vaca time. It was a great 2 weeks because I ended up with a section, and was so grateful for the help.
My H will be finishing up an online masters program right around the time I'm due. Once he's done, he'll be staying home, even after I go back to work. I only get 6 weeks.
Lurking from the 2nd tri board...But since we like to plan ahead i can answer this question! Lol DH will probably be taking off 2 weeks. I'm due in June and he'll be leaving his job in late July to early August to start a new job. So he'll most likely be taking the rest of his vacation time to be with me and the kids after we get home.
DH plans to take 2 weeks then one-days a week as he can through my leave. We will have a 2 year old at home and I will have a RSC so his help will be needed! Last time I ended up being in the hospital for about a week due to some issues that both DS and I had. Dh has plenty of vacation and unlimited sick time so he can take more time at his own discretion over the summer as long as he gets his work done.
DH gets 2 weeks paid paternity leave. He also bought an extra week of vacation this year, so he can either take an extra week after the baby, or save it for later on.
DH gets 3 weeks paid paternity leave, but he'll be taking it sporadically throughout the spring. He also gets weeklong February and April breaks that will fall during my Mat Leave and Thurs-Mon off for Easter (he works at a Catholic High School).
My mother-in-law is my childcare for my toddler, and my mom will be in town for a few weeks after the new baby is born, so between the two of them she is taken care of and I can focus on the baby and my own recovery.
DH took a week of vacation time after DD and DS were born. He'll probably do the same with this one. MIL will probably be out of town around this baby's birth, as BIL's wife has the same due date as I do and they will need more of her help than we will. However, FIL lives right around the corner to help will odds and ends. Both of my kids are walking (3 and 1 yrs), so I won't need to carry them around if I end up with a c/s.
DH works for state government and has for about 15 years, so he gets quite a bit of vacation time each month. He's been saving it up so that when baby comes he can take a total of 3 weeks off. We may split it up if my friend can come and stay for a week. Then he'll go back to work but come home again after she leaves.
My DH can take up to 12 weeks FMLA unpaid leave. He only plans to take maybe 2 weeks at the most, and burn vacation time so he continues to get paid. He is lucky, though-he was able to carry over about half of his time from last year, plus has his 3+ weeks of this year's time. He also works on 12 hour rotating shifts, so only has to burn 3-4 days of vacation to get a week off. That's the plan for now-we'll see how it goes!

Our Angel was born sleeping at 20 weeks due to IC.
My DH doesn't have a regular job per say, as he is an athlete, but he will be taking off about 2 weeks, anymore and I know he would get really antsy and stir crazy, and I should be good to be on my own after 2 weeks.
DH is a doctor, he gets 5 days. 2 will be used for my csection days in hospital, then our parents will each visit for a week, then he will take the remaining. 3. RCS here!
DH gets 2 weeks paternity leave right after birth. Last time he went back after 2 weeks and then took 2 more weeks of leave about a month later. We plan to have friends on call to watch DD for labor. Then my parents will fly down and help after the fact.
It looks like a week when the baby is born, 2 weeks in May for scheduled spring break, and then 5 weeks paternity leave later on, attached to the summer holidays (both teachers).

He doesn't get paid time off at this point. He will most likely take off during our time in the hospital but that is it.
My mother in law has offered to help as needed with the kids.
I will be have a csection, so he will be doing anything needed for dd. Once he goes back to work, my mom will help out.
