Thrush and Nystatin

Looks my LO and I have thrush. Ugh, so painful. I called the pedi today and she gave me a prescription for Nystatin.
She said I need to apply this to my nipples before every feeding and drop it in DS's mouth.
I started researching Nystatin and the internet says not to apply the liquid drops to your nipples because one of the ingredients is sugar and it will make things worse. If that's the case, then how would it work on him?
Has anyone treated thrush successfully yet? Do I need to call my gyno about this? I am pretty sure my MFM would not prescribe me any medications now that I am no longer his patient.

    You need to be treated as well. Call you doc ASAP.

    I got a nystatin cream for my nips that needed to be applied twice a day after a feeding. Call your ob and ask for an rx for the cream, or if the drops are okay.

    My instructions were to call my OB for me to get treated and apply 1 ML to each cheek on LO 4X a day

    I take a pill once daily for a week as my treatment

    Baby has been using it since Monday and his is already clearing up. BF didn't work out for us early on so FF which means I don't have it so I can't really help ya with your end.

    That's awful that your pediatrician never told you that you both may have it. Gees.
