Naked baby booty pics? (No PIP)

edited January 2014 in July 2012 Moms
What do we think of these? I think most parents have snapped pics of their LOs in the buff. I've seen some posted on FB and TB...not talking full frontal nudity, just baby bums. Appropriate on social media/forums like this one or no?

I'm asking because I was thisclose to posting a story accompanied by a bootie pic, but realized it may be a bad idea. It got me curious about what other moms think.

ETA: if you think they are fine, at what age does that stop?

  • I'm fine with it! I love baby booties and I think until maybe age 2 its fine. Some people are weird about it, but that's their prerogative. Whatevs.

Oh, and I have posted a naked booty pic on IG before. Not mine, Kellen's  ;)

I don't mind seeing them.  Baby booties are adorable.  I don't have a problem with anybody posting them; I'm just not comfortable posting any of B.  I'm not really sure what age I think would be the cutoff- maybe 2 or a liiiitle later.

Idk, I will never post a naked booty pic of Matthew on social media. I just feel like that's something to be kept to us. All my fb friends don't need to see his booty and I'm sure most of them don't want to, especially those without kids.

So does that include forums like this one where we are all supposedly parents? I get where you are coming from, just wondering. I love you guys and would trust you all enough to post one of Em, but at the last second I thought about lurkers. Who knows who is wandering the site?

I think FB or IG would be better than a forum because at least (hopefully) your settings are private and not just any lurky loo can see.

FB changes their stuff so often that the privacy setting always have to be tinkered with. I agree, I'm more comfortable with chest up shots for my own kid, but don't judge people who post booty shots (obv since I almost posted one myself).

The question about age popped into my head after discussing a famous photographer with DH. She is super controversial because she takes pics of her kids naked (we're talking full frontal) and then they are displayed or sold in galleries. The kids are older, ranging between 3 and 10 I think. Nothing erotic, just kids running around playing and being kids. I am uncomfortable with the concept of displaying and selling that kind of art, but do you think even taking the photos to begin with at that age crosses a line?

  • I take plenty of pictures of his cute booty, but I don't show them to anyone besides DH and the grandparents.

I'm personally not comfortable with posting pictures like that of Oliver. I think I have posted some chest up of him in the tub but that's it. I love them and think they are cute but I'd prefer to keep them for the baby book. I don't judge people who put them up but I think that it would be hard to come up with a cut off age, I think our kids are approaching that though. I think FB or IG would be better than a forum because at least (hopefully) your settings are private and not just any lurky loo can see.
It is funny because even though I say I have no qualms over booty pics, I would be hesitant to post one on here. Even FB really as I have a lot of acquaintance type friends on FB and my IG account is private and a little more limited to friends and family (and mostly parent friends). So I guess I do have some qualms about it, since I chose not to post the booty pic on FB and I would not post it on here either.

  • I love baby booty pics!  I just took one after bath time the other night.  I considered posting it on the WOW thread but decided against it.  I'm not sure I want that floating around the internet.  I definitely wouldn't post it on Facebook.  Too many creepers.

  • I did it a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't a full booty, but Karsyn had pulled her pants and diaper down half way. When I said something to her she thought it was funny and ran away saying "hiney". I had to do it!

I think the baby booty pictures are cute and would share them with close family and friends. Like Wmel13 I would not post them on FB. I do not want to share those personal, private pictures with random antiquates on FB. I tend to be a more private person in general though.
