Bumbo?

Is anyone using a Bumbo yet? I'm pretty sure I started using it around 10 weeks with DS but DD looks ready for it already. She loves sitting up with just my hand on her lower back supporting her. I don't remember DS being that strong and steady at 6 weeks.

But I think I remember reading something about it not being good for their spines if you start using it too early. The website just says once they can support their own heads. Thoughts?

We've used it once or twice. We'll probably use it more often around 9-10 weeks.

Dd is six weeks and we are using it already. She sits in it for a couple of minutes a couple of times a day. When she starts slumping or having a hard time with her head then she comes out.

LO is 7 weeks tomorrow. She has pretty good head support so we tried it last week and she just wasn't a fan. Gonna try again soon! DS looooved it, and DD1 hated it. so we'll see.

You are right about the spine. With DS Pedi warned against using it too early or leaving them in for too long. I didn't use it until 4 months or so.

This. I can't remember how old DD1 was (I could look back at my pictures to see) but she was also a preemie. I do remember she met all the developmental milestones normally but I know I wasn't using the bumbo at 6 weeks.

I'm not rushing it. No need for the bumbo at this point, IMO. LO will learn to sit up just fine.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I'll wait until she's closer to 10 weeks. I don't want to chance anything with her spine.
