That's so far beyond offensive and closed minded that it's actually quite disgusting. I like how she says that it's actually really easy to get married and have kids, but clearly doesn't care to take into account how much work it is to maintain that marriage 10, 20 or even 50 years, or how much effort moms put in every day to try and raise respectful and productive members of society. But obviously, that's way to much to think about for her.
"You will never have the time, energy, freedom or mobility to be exceptional if you have a husband and kids."
I'm exceptional BECAUSE I have a husband and child. They make me that much better of a person. Obviously no one loves her.... She also probably needs to get laid. Screw that bitch!
I agree that her piece is definitely offensive, but it doesn't piss me off. She is clearly close-minded and is set in her skewed ways. Her view of my life doesn't make it any less important. She sounds like a moron trying to overcompensate for her own insecurities.
I agree that we should celebrate other things women do in life other than get married or have children. However, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't celebrate these milestones just because they are "average", as she states. Why can't we have it all? Who the hell is she to say that we must choose? I led a very full life prior to meeting my husband and accomplished many things. I waited until I was in my 30s to get married and have kids. I have no regrets. I look forward to the full life we will lead as a family together. The difference, I don't look down on others for not doing this. Everyone has the right to live their lives as they choose. Just because my path was right for me, doesn't make it right for someone else. As for me, I fully intend to have it all. I will raise my child, love my husband, run my household AND my business. Will it be easy? I expect not, but nothing worth doing ever is.
She sounds like a very cold, bitter person. I hope she's happy with that exciting life alone, because with that attitude I doubt she'll find anyone, even friends, who will want to share it with her.
Meh. She obviously is unhappy with her own life. If she thinks you can't be an exceptional person while having kids and husband she must just exceptional regardless.
I skimmed her others stuff. She sounds like a real "See you next cuntsday." Wait... did I do that wrong?
She's just upset because no one would touch her vag with a 10-foot pole.
I wouldn't consider being married or pushing/cutting a kid out, then raising said kid easy. Hell, getting knocked up wasn't even easy. The only thing she proves is that any idiot that can type can have a blog. She probably has a lot less of a following now.
This and the "23 things" blog are based on ridiculous stereotypes. Yes these stereotypes exist somewhere in the world...no all married women with children are not like that. I guess there is only one way to live life according to people.
ETA: It's like these bloggers base their opinions after watching bridezillas or some other horrible "reality" shows.
I agree with @BellaOso, she is clearly unhappy and it is easier to be angry than vulnerable. Imo, the more negative reactions she receives the more she will feel validated in her stance.
Wow I have a feeling all of her friends have gotten married and had babies and she's all alone, how exceptional can she be if all she's doing is blogging and putting down others
Meh. I've heard it before, and its always from bitter, unhappy people who would love to get married and have a family if they weren't so dysfunctional that no one will go near them.

I feel sad for her. Her self esteem is based on how she does at work. She's going to have a very cold and lonely life if she never experiences the love and fulfillment of family.
This is just a horrible article. I currently only have a son but if I ever have a daughter, I hope I teach her that your value is based on your own opinion of yourself, not what the world may say it is. All women deserve the right to CHOOSE the life they live and be exceptional at it. I find that being a mother is the most exceptional thing one can do because we are bringing life into this world. We are creating future Leaders, Innovators, Thinkers, Caretakers, and the list could go on and on. We are shapping the next generation of human beings and that has more of an effect on society than whether or not she got a stupid promotion!!!

You know what I thought was funny about it was she said that getting married is easy and anyone can do it, I take it she isn't married. Is it because you're too much of a miserable woman that no one wanted to marry you?

Now this is the story all about how, My life got flipped, turned upside down, And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air. In West Philadelphia I was born and raised On the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin all cool, And all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good, Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, And said "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in bel Air." I whistled for a cab, and when it came near, The license plate said "fresh" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cat was rare, But I thought "Nah forget it, Yo home to Bel Air." I pulled up to the house about seven or eight, and I yelled to the cabby "Yo homes, smell ya later." Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air.

@turtlemomma damn I've missed you around these parts...
I'm all for people making their own choices and doing what makes them happy. If you spend your life judging what others do...clearly you are not happy with your own life choices and need a meaningful hobby.

Truth.

Resentful much? Geez. She is clearly a judgy bitch that hates life.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I pity her.
