Tylenol during pregnancy

I've been sick since Monday. I've only slept about 5 hours in two days. I'm 13 weeks pregnant. I have a horrible headache and low grade fever. I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm very anti-medicine when I'm not pregnant so I can't believe I'm even considering this. But I can't take it anymore. I'm at my wits end. I'm exhausted and in so much pain. I just want to sleep. Anyone else taken Tylenol?
Eta: sorry that's ended up being a sick rant
Also it's children's Tylenol cause i don't have any adult Tylenol in the house.

Re: Tylenol during pregnancy

  • I would and have taken Tylenol plenty of times when pregnant. It is not something I conern myself with. I think it's better to take a safe medication like Tylenol occasionally than suffer in misery and end up a cranky, tired mess.

I would think about seeing a doctor if the fever continues, though, to rule out an infection that needs to be treated.

  • Thank you. I texted my midwife and she also said it was ok. Now I need it to kick in so I can sleep. Thanks for the fever advice:)
  • I tried my best to avoid medications when pregnant, but I was comfortable taking Tylenol.
  • Yes on all the above. I took one Tylenol once in my 1st Tri and my MW suggested I take it the other night (now 38 weeks) when I was having massive contractions and back pain like a period. It's fine :)
