Do you use a blanket for baby?

I have had Ariella with a blanket up to her belly button/ chest but under her arms since birth, even at the hospital. My grandma and aunt just freaked out at me and said it's not allowed until 1 year old, so does anyone else use a blanket?

We swaddle with a blanket, but it's wrapped tightly around him and no chance of it coming loose/off. We don't put anything loose in the crib with him.

We swaddle with an A&A blanket and then we have a few had knitted blankets we put across him and tuck under the bassinet mattress on each side and that is usually up to the middle of his chest. The nurses did it in the hospital and he sleeps so much better. He has a hard time when he has him arms free or isn't snug, think he may miss the womb.

We swaddle in a Halo sleep sack. Usually we do not use a blanket, but on particularly cold nights (like tonight where we'll be in the 30s in south Florida) I'll tuck a crochet blanket around her lower half. Her arms are swaddled in, and she sleeps in the cuddle cove of a PnP, which really does cuddle her on all sides, so there's minimal chance it would be an issue. Also, the PnP is pushed up against my bed and she wears a Snuza. I will not use a blanket in her crib until she's older.

LO is often wrapped in the swaddle me, which is super tight and has velcro to make sure it stays put. Other than that, during the day I'll wrap her in a regular blanket if I'm sitting right by her while she sleeps. I'm anal about her suffocating or getting caught up in a blanket so it's only if I'm right there with her.

We use them a lot at nap time, but not at night. At night we just use a swaddling blanket or a SwaddleMe or sleep sack.

She hates to have her arms in when swaddled and always ended up wiggling free even with the halo. Also, temps have been so low that I was worried as her room is very cold. So I tuck the blanket under her arms and down her body. Then I take the rest and fold it up to one side to keep her leaning towards a side in case she spits up throughout the night. She drools a lot too lol... She actually picks a different side each night. I feel that she's very safe for now. Once she's moving more I think a sleep sack will be all I'll use.

ETA: I just walked in to feed LO and she has the Velcro swaddler wings completely undone, little Houdini.

We do during the day and SwaddleMe at night. I should break her of it though because they aren't allowed blankets at daycare due to licensing. I also need to get her out of the RnP and into a crib...

We have the baby swaddled in a receiving blanket. Once she gets too big for that, we have a swaddleme to use.

I only use a blanket for tight swaddling or a sleep sack. I have seen a loose blanket get wrapped around a child's head while sleeping . Luckily he was ok but I don't really mess around with the loose blankets .

I have a blanket with her day and night. During the day she doesn't move that much so it usually stays in place. At night she kicks her legs a lot so she usually kicks it off. She sleeps 4 feet from my bed I can see if the blanket is anywhere near her face.

Blankets for day naps on her boppy. I tuck it around and underneath and it only goes to her waist. I use a swaddle me at night and then we will use a sleepsack.

She hates being swaddled so I use a blanket up to her armpits but I tuck the sides under the edges of her bassinet mattress so it doesn't move. I'll stop doing it and move to a sleep sack once she starts moving around at night.

I voted no because no loose blankets at night (which was how I read the question), but at night I swaddle with Swaddleme and will wrap him in an A+A blanket during the day in his swing or bouncer.

My LO uses a swaddle me at night. We did use a halo sleepsack last night for the first time. I will tuck a blanket around his legs in the car seat. I also will tuck a blanket around his legs when he is in the swing or bouncer, but I keep him in my view at those times.

If this means as opposed to some sort of sleep sack, all the time. He has a light muslin sheet on hot nights, tonight it's cooler so he has the thicker cotton one. If it's really chilly he gets swaddled in the thicker sheet. It's too hot for thick blankets

We swaddle with a&a swaddlers. But with DS1 we used one at 5 months. And my 9month old nephew literally will not sleep unless his taggie is over his face. I think a blanket is fine.
