This is a very sad outcome. I was really hoping the baby would pull through. Even if it's legs were deformed, that would of still been a good outcome. But, fluid in the skull and a heart abnormality too...this just breaks my heart. Not only is the husband losing his wife, but his unborn baby too. ugh. I want to cry now.
The idiots who made this decision are going to have to make a massive payment after a civil suit. They tortured this woman's family for no damn reason.
As cold as it sounds, the baby is a fetus- medically speaking. Even my doctors notes say "fetus" from my U/S the day before A was born.
And I am so sad for this family, to have their grieving and struggles plastered all over the news for people's commentary because a hospital/government feel they have a right to determine what is best for a family.

Calling it a "baby" as opposed to a "fetus" won't make the torture any easier on the family. I think it will make it harder to detach if that is the choice they are finally able to make.
The family has already made a choice, the hospital isn't allowing their wishes to be carried out.
Re: Follow up to pregnant woman who is brain dead.
@xBlueFrogx I think they keep using the term fetus because it's a fetus.
