36 wk check tomorrow

When you went to your 36 week check up were you dialted at all? I've been having A LOT of pressure and I'm wondering if that means I'm dilated or if she's just dropping? I believe I lost my mucous plug or at least some of it the other day. Being a FTM I've got a lot of questions and DH tries to help by being "daddy google" as my mom calls him.

    My OB started doing internal checks at my 36 week appt. The pressure could be from baby dropping or just growing. Also, losing your mucus plus doesn't necessarily mean much. You can lose your plug more than once as it regenerates. I started losing chunks of my plug around 38 weeks and went 4 days past my due date.

    Mine don't check, it doesn't matter until you are in labor.

    I have had 3-4 cervical checks, yesterday was my most recent at 38w2d and I am still at 0.  Some days I have a lot of pressure/shooting jolts in my cervix, but baby still isn't down.  You can quickly or slowly dilate, so it may or may not mean anything.

    I just got back from the doctors and they didn't check me at all. I thought they started checking you at 36 weeks?? They did a test to check for some bacteria that I could possibly transfer to her. Those results I will know when I go back next week.

    Not all doctors do cervix checks.  The check they did today was for Strep B.
