Recommend your makeup....

Hello ladies!!

I have decided to start going to the gym on my lunch hour so that I can spend my evenings with LO and DH. I don't want to have to worry about getting too sweaty and ruining my makeup, so I am looking for recommendations on awesome, quick makeup....Im talking cream blush, good powder, etc to reapply after I wipe my face down from a good workout so Im still work presentable!! I'll have about 10 min to redo makeup/hair, so fast is key. Aaaaannnnddd....GO!

Re: Recommend your makeup....

  • I buy cheap, so I'm no use. I always clip coupons and get whatever with that at CVS/Walgreens.

I just wanted to say I'm impressed and jealous that you can go to the gym during lunch.

  • I swear by Bare Minerals foundation and powder. I don't wear blush. I use the Almay eye shadow pack for blue eyes, loreal eye liner, and loreal mascara. I am also impressed that you can work out on your lunch.

I love the physicians formula powders. I'm prone to breakouts and have combination skin & it's great.
No help in the other items...I tend to buy random stuff for blush & eyewear

Eta if you do mascara maybe use a waterproof one in the am. It should hold through your workout so you don't streak or have to reapply

Try a tinted moisturizer like Laura Mercier. A little pricey but does double duty and goes on nice. I like Benefit bronzer/blush. I think the one I like is called Dallas. Quick eyelash curl and maybe a touch of mascara and you're good to go. :)
  • Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer is great!

If you want full coverage/ matte finish Kat Von D's Lock-It tattoo foundation is waterproof and matted so no need to keep reapplying powder. It is pricey but if you're not wanting to spend the $$, Covergirl's 3-in-1 foundation is the drugstore equivalent. I don't think it's waterproof though...

  • I find Neutragena liquid foundation to be a fast coverup. I add Mac blush in Cubic and I'm good to go.

  • I use revlon foundation and powder. I swear by them. I love the powder.. I can use that just it's self somedays after quickly applying concealer to some areas.. Use some mascara, eyeliner, quick gloss and your good.

  • Thanks, ladies!! Lots of good choices to ponder ; )

And yes, I am lucky to be able to hit the gym at lunch! Luckily my gym is 5 min from the office, so I have 40 min to workout, 10 of drive time, and 10 to get ready again. It's a mad dash, but worth it!

  • MAC Face and Body Foundation is totally waterproof if you want full coverage that you won't have to reapply after your workout.

For a cheap cream blush, Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush is quick and easy.

Ditto LokiLahave on the Physicians Formula powder. I have pretty good luck with it.

No make up on right eye, left has Rimmel volume accelerator mascara and I lined the bottom halfway across with Rimmel scandal eyes waterproof sparkling black. That's usually all I wear ever. However if I'm really trying to look flawless I use hard candy glamoflage (heavy duty concealer) under my eyes and hard candy bronzer in "tropics" on the apples of my cheeks and Milani lipstick in "rose hip"
I actually put glamoflage on the left eye to cover my tired bag eye.
    ....Skips off to finish make-up

Edit: I'm in love with Rimmel mascara and eye liner. It stays nearly perfect through my work day, after work cocktails/ or gym and sleep, yes sleep! I've accidentally fell asleep in it before and it looks good still.
    No flaking at all!
