This week is hard..

This is my third week back at work. For the last two weeks although I missed A, I was really excited to be back. This week it feels like I have forgotten something. Everytime I'm not 100% focused, I feel like a part of me is missing. I am sure it will get easier, but right now I would like to be home cuddling my little one.
Someone tell me that they know what I mean!

Re: This week is hard..

  • At 2-3 weeks were probably my roughest. It has gotten better/easier. I've been back for almost 12 weeks now. Some days still stink but it is better.

It gets easier. Not sure where you work, but I have pictures of my baby all over the place so I can look at her face no matter what I do. Also, it makes coming home that much better.

Thanks, I get pics of her every day and that helps. She is really happy to see me when I get home - although she was very sleepy last night. That's probably why it is so rough today. I feel like I am going crazy!
  • It is tough!  I've been back for a month and a half and am still missing those sweet maternity leave days.  I agree with Jdoud77, keep pictures at your desk if you have one and also have videos on your phone.  I watch them when I go pump and they help me so much!  Keep reminding yourself that you are working to provide your LO with the very best and that you will get to see that sweet face at the end of the day.

  • I am 3 weeks in as well and it's not getting easier at all!  I don't think I could be a SAHM but I would sure like to give it a shot for a little while.  The lady that watches my LO does text me through out the day with pictures and how she is doing but I still miss her SO much.  5PM can not come fast enough!

Just realized I'm not being encouraging but I do understand where you are coming from.

  • It's so tough! I've been back almost a month now. It's harder when I'm not as busy with meetings during the day. I don't think it will get easier to be away from her, but I also like knowing I'm coming home to that sweet smiling face at the end of the day. Like others, I also suggest pictures, pictures, and more pics!

  • I'm in the same boat. I never feel 100% there anymore. My brain is distracted and has more important things then just work!

  • Thanks guys, you really cheered me up today! Anyway, we are over halfway through the week! I'm off to bed before my 4am wake up call for LO's meds. Ugh!
