paranoid about migraine

Im 8 weeks and recovering from one of the worst migraines of my life. Of course i google this and see lots of people note a migraine before discovering a misses miscarriage. Ugh, my appt on Wednesday cant come soon enough. Thanks for letting me vent

Try not to worry about it. Stress probably contributes to your migraine. For the record, when I miscarried (13 years ago) I didn't have a headache at all. Just severe, severe cramping, followed by heavy bleeding. And I've known lots of pg women who've had migraines made worse by hormonal changes who went on to deliver perfectly healthy babies.

Google can be helpful, but if you don't have other symptoms, I wouldn't worry. ((Hugs and Prayers))

Thank you. I had one miscarriage at 5 weeks with no symptoms other than bleeding, so Im always worried Im the odd one that doesnt follow normal symptoms. Hearing about a small gestational sac last week didnt help $:\$

Migraines are really common when you're on hormones and/or when your hormones are changing due to pregnancy or stims. I got them pretty often and they were fairly painful.

I hope yours is related to this. I haven't heard of them related to miscarriages.

I've never heard of that but have heard that head aches are very common and I've had horrible migraines through this pregnancy. so back away from evil google that is probably making your migraine worse lol I know it's hard but it better for you to stay relaxed.

I had horrible migraines my first trimester with dd. I could barely function since I couldn't take anything. Try not to stress. I agree with others - the hormone surge is likely the culprit and avoid Google at all costs!!

I had migraines during my first trimester and I think it was hormone related. Hope that's all it is and feell better- migraines are the worst!

They are not related! Just related to pregnancy! It is hard not to worry, understandably, but hang in there. I would try physical therapy. They can at least work on the muscles to help with the pain. Studies out there show it works for migraines. Good luck!

Some tricks: Heating pad on feet and cold pack on head or back of neck. Helps to draw the blood down. Neck/back massage by your partner or see if you can find someone with 1st tri massage experience (that part is important). Try a half caf coffee if you're desperate. Lots of water, staying hydrated helps. Cool pack on eyes can sometimes help a bit. Acupressure in the right spots can be useful. The "meat" Between the thumb and forefinger is a spot known to help headaches. Hope those help, or at least keep you busy.mthe heat on feet and fold on head really helped give me some relief.

I had a horrible migraine last week and I was worried too. But at 8 weeks there is a lot changing hormone wise that probably caused it. While I have stayed away from caffeine since my BFP, I did drink one cup of coffee with my Tylenol the day I had the migraine. It wasn't easy since I was already throwing up, but I don't think I would have recovered without the caffeine. 200mg or less a day is okay while pregnant.

My neurologist warned me before I was pregnant that although the majority of her female patients get migraine relief during pregnancy because of the drop in estrogen, some have the worst of their lives. I had one brutal one at around 10 weeks, but since then not a single one. According to neurologist: completely normal. Relief suggestions: small amount of caffeine, tylenol, cold packs, quiet and dark room. Good luck at your appt today!

Unfortunately I wasnt paranoid :-S. No heartbeat and it seems baby stopped growing right around the time of my migraine. I know migraines dont mean a miscarriage but in my case, my gut was right. Rip baby

Im so sorry. When i had a c/p years ago I also knew something was wrong when my migraines started. So sorry you had to go through this. Thinking of you.
