I usually wash her clothes before wearing them, but there is the occasion where I need to put her in something before I wash it, like if she spills something on herself and we are out and when she was littler and would wet through her diaper.
I wish I can say always, but there have been a few times where she's worn something new unwashed (we were in a tough situation).
I second this. While I try, there have been times that he's spit up on his entire shirt. I'll grab one off the racks at the store and pay for it while he's wearing it. I'm horrible at remembering to keep an extra set of clothes for both boys in my diaper bag, on top of all the cloth diapers, 2 sippy cups, and everything else stashed in there.
I'm bad about this - I wash baby's clothes 50% of the time. I almost never wash my clothes new, because I like how they look "new" and like PP said, washing sometimes (often) makes them look "worn". Not a good excuse!
I always wash the new clothes before wearing mine and LO. Hubby could care less and actually prefers them not washed (step daughters are the same). He thinks they are new so they don't need washing. umm.. do you have any idea who tried that on last? Maybe guys are different since I don't see a lot of them trying things on but it's just so gross.
Re: washing LOs new clothes
There are so many chemicals on clothes when they are shipped to stores.
My DD and I have sensitive skin.
I think DS does too.
We've had a few wipes (our non-usuals) cause rashes.
Everything will always get washed before wearing.
