Help: Double Stroller Search

I will have an 18 month old when baby #2 arrives in June. Trying to decide on (a) whether to get a double stroller, and (b) what one to get that is reasonably priced and practical.
Any recommendations from moms with similar aged children?

  • There was just a post about this a few days ago. I don't know how to link from mobile.

Im probably going with the Joovy double. The side by side. It has good reviews and is a good price. There is also the City Mini double and Bob double.

Your best bet would be going to a store and trying them out.

Nurseries and Baby Gear board will have a lot on this as well.
  • When DS was born DD was 24mos. I went with the Joovy ultralight sit n stand. It worked well bc while DD wanted to walk a lot. the seat was perfect when she got too tired. the front seat has a car seat adapter for infant car seats which I used with my Graco 35. I don't recall exactly how much it weighed but it was very easy to set up and take down.

  • I bought the BOB Double Stroller. It is so easy to push with two kids in it. I went to the zoo with a friend of mind and her young daughter and we used this stroller....LOVE IT.
  • I've been going round and round about this. Babies will be 19 months apart. We're keeping DD#1 in daycare while I'm on maternity leave. We currently have the UBV and the UB G Luxe umbrella. I honestly am not a huge fan of the UBV. It's big and bulky and not ideal for running errands etc. It's been great for walks around the neighborhood etc. I did use it quite a bit when I was home with dd#1 and it was handy with the carseat adapter and I'll probably do the same.

It converts to a double but the rumble seat gets crappy reviews because of where its positioned. But, I think I'm going to hold off on a double just yet. If we got out, I figure we can use the two strollers since we primarily use the gluxe for dd#1. I also used the Moby and Ergo a ton when DD #2 was small vs the stroller. We do have a double Maclaren umbrella that was given to us.

If it doesn't work out, we can always buy a double. I tried my friends Bob Dualie and I thought it was quite big and heavy. Another friend has the Citi Mini double which was nice and lighter. But, if we do get one, we'll probably go and test drive/fold up etc.
