Hi I'm basically a lurker but need a little insight. My daughter Kylie is 12 weeks old tomorrow. We started at the babysitter 2 weeks ago. Shes with the sitter 2 days a week and My mom the other 3 why I am at work. She is pretty much an average baby when it comes to temperment. sweet as can be most of the time but like all little ones has her flip out days. Her first day at the babysitter went great! the sitter said she was sweet smiling all day and napped very well. The 2nd Day her and the sitters little boy (just a month older then my daughter) didnt nap all day either of them. We chalked it up to just an off day for the both of them. Yesterday was her third day.....The sitter said again she only slept in 15 minute chunks (usually will nap for 1-2 hrs twice a day) and was crying most of the day. When I took her home yesterday she was fine. When she is with my mom the other 3 days she naps well most days and is generally good natured. The sitter doesnt seem overly concerned and tried to reassure me that this is a new routine to her and she will adjust but I am alot more worried about it. Im paying much less with a private sitter then I would a center and really dont want this to get to the point where my sitter decides shes too hard to handle because paying for a center is not an option financially. Is there anything any of you moms have done to make your childcare setting more friendly and comforting for lo? *side note*she has a breathing problem and reflux which is controlled by meds because normally shes in a good mood most often. Any tips would be appreciated
