  Yep! I made that mistake when we were thinking about what to name DS. I didn't even lurk before I posted our ideas....bad idea. You have to really pay attention to what they say over there or you will get your feelings hurt easily! I did...

  so i t was basically someone saying her last name ends in "son" (like edison, anderson, something like that) and she wants to name her son Jaxen...does that sound bad. And no one added any insight except to destroy her on the spelling of Jaxen and tell her how much they hate it. Then another one i read was like "my name and my husbands name begins with S...we want to name our daughter an S name too, what are your suggestions" and everyone told her that was super lame and cheesy. hahahha.

  Meh. I like the BNB well enough, but I knew they'd probate shoot down DS' name so I didn't bother asking

  Eh, I like the board and their honesty. I feel like, although the delivery could be better/kinder, what they have to say is usually dead on.

  I agree, they could be a little kinder when giving their opinion but I usually agree with the main idea.  As a teacher, I am not a fan of "original" names or names that are spelled "unique."  Although, Im not a fan of some of the old lady names that seem to be really popular on that board.  Maybe I don't mind that board because they gave rave reviews on the name we picked for DD.

   

  Baby Shower board, now they can be just down right mean at times.

  I post on that board but I tend to lend my opinion as nicely as possible. I agree with most of what they say, I would just never be as rude about it as some of them are.
