Clear Blue digital OPK

Sooooo Butterfingers McGhee over here dropped her entire OPK in the toilet the other day. 
Now I've got 19 pee sticks and no reader.  The instructions say not to rely on just the sticks, but anyone have luck using them that way?

    Lol Yea, it's just a PITA because in the back of your mind, you will constantly question it :P So annoying! I would probably just go buy another box, so I had the reader, then you have enough OPKs for 99 years. You're just using the digis to confirm, right?

    That's what I was thinking about doing.  I have been looking around at other boards and the consensus is that if your cycle is even slightly off, you'll either see things that aren't really there or you might miss something.  

    Off to spend another 35 freakin' dollars.  

    [edit]  oh yeah.  just using the OPKs to confirm.  I am charting through body temperature and cervical mucus, but since this is my first cycle of hardcore charting, I wanted a little extra confidence.

    Oh damn! That's no good! I am no help on the sticks- I use Internet cheapies for OPKs.

    That's totally something I would do! No advice on sticks without the reader but have you checked prices on amazon? I bought digis when I was ttc ds and Amazon was WAY cheaper than everywhere else

    I had leftover sticks and a tester a few months ago, and accidentally grabbed the wrong tester one morning and I learned that if you switch testers mid-cycle it totally screws up the results.  Sorry.  The suspicion (that I've researched) is that the tester doesn't so much read the sticks as it just counts out the days from a point and then gives you a positive?  I don't know.  I switched to a non digital one this month and had much more consistent results that didn't drive me crazy. 
    Trying for #2 with IVF after damage done in a D&C left me with one functioning (but too scarred) ovary and tube to get pregnant safely without assistance. It's a really, really long story, but that is the gist of it.  We have one daughter (whose c-section birth started this roller coaster) born in 2012 after a miscarriage in 2011. 
    Failed 1st attempt at IVF (Fresh ET day 3, 1 frozen embryo saved) in December 2013.  
    Failed 2nd attempt at IVF (Fresh ET day 5, 2 frozen embryos saved) in February 2014.
