Pregnant after IF

**2IF Grad Check-In**

Congrats to everyone for making it here!  This check-in is for graduates of the 2IF board (and any other secondary infertility grads).  If you are new to the check-in, please let us know your due date and you will be added for next week.

Congrats to huskermama on the birth of Harper Faith!  And a big congrats and welcome to +SouthernMomma+!  Good luck on your 2-hour glucose test today, MJC1116!  And I hope your family is finally on the mend, kndeckar.  There’s been a lot of crud going around lately.

Re: **2IF Grad Check-In**

  • I'm 26 weeks and 2 days, officially in the third trimester!!!  I cannot believe it.  Truly.  It seems like I'm having a dream and I'm hoping I don't wake up from it.  I had my 3-hour glucose tolerance test on Saturday and got the results this morning.... I passed!  I was hugely relieved to hear I don't have GD!

QOTW:  We are a sports family.  We watch the Broncos every game (and will especially be watching the Super Bowl this year!), and we are also huge Rockies fans.  We also like hockey.  And I am always addicted to watching the Olympics, and have been ever since I was a kid.  I'm looking forward to watching them this year, now that DS is really old enough to appreciate it.

  • Hi all!

I'm on my way to 26 weeks. My 2-hour glucose test was boring and the drink is icky. I was so hungry by the end! I'm hoping the test comes back negative, but if not, I'll try not to worry about it.

No new updates. My next appointment is tomorrow. The last 4 weeks between appointments has really dragged on. Baby is kicking a ton, so I'm not too nervous, but still can't shake that 2IF brain.

QOTW: We are big sports people in our family! We love our Dodgers -- my husband grew up a huge Dodger fan. DH and I met on move-in day in college... we both went to USC, so we bleed cardinal and gold (fight on!) and I even swam at USC for a bit until my dad passed away and then I quit. I love watching swimming when it's on TV, especially during the Olympics. A lot of kids I swam against competed in the Olympics...and I was half a second shy of getting my Olympic trial cut but stopped before I ever earned it. As far as the winter olympics are concerned, I was never very interested until DD was born. Opening day was right around the day she was born, so late at night, I'd turn it on during feedings to keep me awake. It was the only thing on TV. Who knew curling and bobsledding would be so interesting during 3 am feedings! I'm tempted to DVR this year's olympics to watch when baby #2 comes.

  • 1.  How many weeks along are you? I'm 12 weeks.

    2.  Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results, etc.)? I had my NT scan yesterday. Since I had done the blood work about a week and a half ago, I got all of the results. Everything looks great. The results showed low risk for chromosomal abnormalities, which was a huge relief.

    3.  How are you feeling lately? Still tired, but I think I was a few weeks into the second tri with my DD when my energy came back. I'm still a bit nauseous too, but I think it's getting better.

    4.  QOTW:  I'm a huge football fan...we have NY Giants season tickets. Thus, the superbowl is about 15 minutes from my house this year. I think after seeing what a douche Sherman was the other night, I have to route for Denver. As for the olympics, I'll watch the figure skating and some of the skiing and snow boarding.

  • Hi everyone! I'm just a little over 13 weeks and my next appointment is at 15 weeks. I have to have my 1 hour glucose test then because I had problems regulating my bloodsugar the first time around. My OB also wants me to start weekly progesterone injections from 15-37 weeks. It has been shown to reduce preterm labor if that was a problem with a previous singleton birth. Since DD was born at 35 weeks their concern is it could be even earlier this time around. I've never taken the progesterone injections before are they really bad? I'm willing to do whatever needed though.
Overall I'm feeling alright. Still a little nauseous and tired plus I've been dealing with heartburn pretty bad this time around which I never experienced with DD.
I grew up in a family where you didn't have a choice but watch and like sports. I really don't have much time to watch anything these days but I know I will definitely be watching the Superbowl. My cousin actually works for the Seahawks and I'm so excited for him. As for the Olympics I know I will watch some but I really don't know how much I will get to enjoy. Mommy doesn't get to watch very much TV anymore. :)

  • 14 weeks--yay 2nd trimester! I can't remember if I posted this yet, but I had some minor spotting last week so my doctor did another ultrasound and everything was luckily fine. Even better was they had my MaterniT21 results and baby is a healthy boy! We are so happy! We finally make our announcement after that and it has been great hearing everyone's excitement for us. No appts scheduled until 15.5 weeks.

DH is big into sports and I try to watch some with him and listen to his commentary and updates. I don't mind, just wouldn't consider myself a huge fan. I competed in horses (hunter/jumper) for years so I like to keep up when I can. I love watching the Olympics and am excited for them to start!

  • I'm 21 weeks.
No medical updates. Still trying to get through morning sickness.

    Not really into sports.
  • Thanks to everyone for all the congrats and well wishes. Harper is 1 week old today and we are re-adjusting to life with a newborn while trying to balance the needs of our active 5 year old. Harper's not the best sleeper and loves to cluster feed so I've been living in a bit of a fog, but will finally be posting her birth story and some pics in just a bit. Despite feeling like a walking zombie, we are so in love and every appointment, injection, ache and pain was totally worth it!

Again, a huge thank you to everyone here for all of the love and support and I wish you all the best on the remainder of your pregnancies. I will continue to be cheering you all on and checking in periodically.

  • Looks like they have unblocked this site at work, so I can post again!

I'm 14 weeks.  This is the most nerve wracking part of pregnancy for me.  The I don't look or feel pregnant part doesn't do my PGAL brain any favors.

My next appointment isn't for another 2 weeks, but I do get to schedule my a/s then, so I'm looking forward to that.

Slowly feeling more human again.  We had to put our oldest kitty to sleep yesterday, so I'm in a bad funk.  Pregnant emotions + a bad situation is not a good combo.

I love college football!  I graduated from Alabama and live less than an hour from Auburn, so we are surrounded by it.  For some strange reason, I like to watch curling during the winter Olympics.  I find it fascinating.

  • I'm 12 weeks. Starting to feel better but still hoping to have a little more energy here in the coming weeks. My next appt is this Friday. It's actually my first appt with my OB after being released from the RE.

We love to watch college basketball. The NCAA tournament is my favorite sporting event. Can't wait for March Madness! I will watch the Super Bowl, but I'm not really into football. I also love to watch gymnastics & figure skating. Girly I know :)

    23 weeks tomorrow
    Monthly OB apt. on Wednesday.
Mostly feeling all right. Had a little heartburn set in last week, and my sciatic nerve has really been hurting/pinching, but otherwise I'm doing pretty well.
We're big sports fans here. We love college football the most. DH is an Ohio State fan and I'm a michigan fan, so that game is always fun. For pro sports we are big Detroit fans. I like watching most, except for golf and tennis. I don't know how much of the Olympics I'll watch though.

*eta: totally thought this was This week's check in. Off to post again on the right one!

So glad you passed your test! Yeah! Hoping the last several weeks fly by and that your lo takes it easy on you :) She will be here soon!
