Threatened Miscarriage

Just wanted to send an update.

Had an u/s and dr appointment today for the bleeding.  I am 5wks 2days today.  They could see a gestational sac, and it was in the right place (not in tubes or anything)  however could not confirm a yolk sac (u/s tech thought she saw one, but it was so small and she couldn't get a good picture.

The doc didn't seem too concerned by the u/s because I was only 5wks along and that seemed right on the money for what he saw.  He did an internal exam and did see blood, but my cervix was closed.

So basically I am in limbo until the re-test next week.

Thanks for all the T&P and FX.   I really appreciate it.  I hope I'm not miscarrying... this group is so nice and respectful to everyone.. I want to stay!

    Definitely a little stressfull.  I feel like I am both pregnant and not pregnant at the same time.  I just want to know whether or not i'm miscarrying.  That was I can deal with it (or continue to be excited) either way.... sigh.

    So stressful! The 5-7 week point is such a pivotal point and there are a lot of changes (even from day to day visually on u/s). Hoping everything is perfectly fine at the next scan.

    I'm sorry you're dealing with this uncertainty.  I've dealt with this several times, and now I just refuse to get an u/s until 8ish weeks.  I am the exact same way- I want to know for certain one way or the other, and just deal with it, whatever is happening.

    FX for good news for you. FWIW, both my previous pregnancies were coded "threatened miscarriage" when I was sent for u/s because I had some bleeding, which turned out to be an irritable cervix.

    Waiting is so so hard. Try to trust your doctor, and stay away from Dr. Google! Keeping busy helped me when I was in that situation. It's impossible not to worry, but a little distraction can't hurt. T&P!!

    I'm sorry you're going through this. FX for a great scan next week!

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
    Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
    Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.
    ~There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world~

    Phone consult with Dr. Haney (Univ of Chicago) for transabdominal cercalge scheduled for 2/9/15.

    FX for good news! I was in a similar situation and the next week we seen a lil bean AND a heartbeat. I was 5w4d at my first u/s.

    Sending you good vibes and hoping for a positive follow up. Waiting is so hard. It is still very early. I had early ultrasounds and we didn't see the yolk sac until 5 weeks 4 days. I hope your pregnancy is progressing well. Be good to yourself.
