Token of appreciation for Doctor and his staff ?!!

Just curious if anyone is doing this or has any ideas for what is appropriate to show my appreciation to my doctor and his staff? I told him the day after my surgery that I wanted to thank him for taking such good care of me and my son the last 30 some odd weeks and that I knew I was in good hands.... I would like to do something thou...
Thanks for the feedback :)

  • What about an edible arrangement or something like that? It's edible, shareable, and healthy-ish.

I love my OB. I mean, I have the man's personal cell phone if I need it (I've only called it once ever). I like this idea!!

Do any ladies here work in medical offices and could thus recommend something specific everyone might enjoy? I remember working in a doctor's office and detesting when patients would bring in sweets and junk food, because then I would eat it :P

I have had different doctors and my OB is just really great. The doctor that I saw w my 3rd let her ego get in the way and over medicated me to get me to term (which didn't work) I had a reaction to all the meds and had him 35 weekish anyways. My OB listen to my concerns, followed thru on what needed to be and didn't stress things that were not worth stressing. I always felt in good hands and while its important with all kinds of doctors, OBs have a special place cuz they are taking care of you AND your baby :)...

My MIL has a cookie company so I will probably include some of them but what else?

  • I love when patients bring muffins, pastries, or doughnuts in personally. I plan to bring in something of that nature to my ob's office after LO is born.

I'm craving an edible arrangement! I may have to order myself one. Fun fact: MIL calls them "edible fruit". Other things she says wrong: "walmark", "babies for us", "petique" instead of petite, "chunky cheese" instead of chuck e cheese, etc etc.

Oh boy! and does this drive u nuts about mil or do u find it endearing?

Haha! My FIL is similar-has his things that are wrong... It actually originates from his side of the family. They are known as Ponder-isms (last name). For example: african instead of afghan, autobahn instead of ottoman, crotch instead of crouch, fibromyalgebra instead of fibromyalgia... The list goes on, but that's all that is coming to me right now! That's on top of the 'redneck' words-warsh vs wash, zinc vs sink, etc.

Both! MH and I use her words sometimes to make each other laugh but sometimes I don't know what she's talking about for a few minutes. My absolute favorite is how she says "abdominal snowman".
    Lol
I just had to hold my incision from laughing so hard!! I have similar moments w my mil kinda sitting looking perplexed til I figure out what she is talking about! She is on the flighty side

@jackiep1023 - "fibromyalgebra" cracked my ass up!

That's the most recent one. It was hilarious-he had no idea it was wrong!

  • The cookies were a hit! Thanks :) I joked with the nurse saying naturally I would bring frosted sugar cookies in January when everyone is still in New Years resolution mode... She laughed and said don't worry we will eat them lol
  • I'm thinking about making this to bring in. Lol
