3rd time mom still not feeling baby!

This is my third pregnancy and I'm 18 weeks. I remember feeling my other two around 17 weeks but this one not as much. I know I'm not going to feel as much as I will later in the trimester. I'm sure everything is fine but it's weirding me out a little. My next appointment isn't until the 31st!!! Are you ladies feeling much?

Re: 3rd time mom still not feeling baby!

  • Some people do, some people don't. You may have an anterior placenta. Regular movement isn't expected until 24 weeks.

  • I'm 19 weeks with my 3rd and haven't felt any definable movement yet either. It's probably just how I'm carrying this time or something. I know I was starting to freak too but I had an appointment with the high risk doctor last Friday and heard the heartbeat so I felt better. Our A/S is tomorrow and that will certainly have me feeling better.
I'm sure everything is fine with you as well.

  • As LilNunz said it may be anterior placenta, I too am a 3rd time mom and have *maybe* felt a jab to the cervix a few times but no definite movement. I do have anterior placenta and am hoping within the next few weeks I'll start feeling this little girl. Aside from the not feeling your baby right away part, anterior placenta is nothing to worry about

  • A few posts down there is a post with 2 pages of responses of women anxious to feel the baby move. That would be the appropriate place to post this.

  • I would ask doctor next time if you have an anterior placenta.  I had one with my daughter.  I asked with this one and I don't, and it's definitely making a huge difference in what I feel.  I just like to know those things.

  • My dr said she herself couldn't feel her third very well but it was all normal in the end. My placenta is anterior too. I've just started feeling baby. 20 weeks.
  • This is my fourth and I feel her significantly less than I did #2 and #3.  The feeling is similar to #1, who I had an anterior placenta with.  I figured this was the case with this baby and that was the first thing I asked at my anatomy scan last week.  An anterior placenta was confirmed.  It really makes a difference.  I am 21 weeks now and feel the baby every day but not a lot.

  • This is my 3rd, too and I have experienced the same thing.  I'm only just now starting to feel tiny thumps and thuds in there.  With my first it started around 18 weeks, and the second was around 15, so I was weirded out this time, too.  I'm sure everything is fine.  I have noticed more thuds after I've had a glass of juice or water.
  • This is my second and I started to feel movement around 18 weeks.  It's still not really consistent and comes in spurts.

  • I'm almost 20 weeks and this is my 4th pregnancy and I don't feel much movement. I'm overweight though so that's probably why. Sometimes I think I feel it but not the way I remember you know? I have a close work friend who's pregnant, only 12 weeks and she's showing more than I am and feeling the baby kick... It's crazy I love her but I want to kill her lol!
Don't worry it'll be doing this in no time:

  • Your placenta may have implanted in the front this time. Mine did and I am only now starting to feel pushes and flicks at 19 weeks with my second. No real kicking or punching yet, but I think the placenta will absorb most of that until he is much bigger.

To all the negative comments you all must have a lot of free to take the time to reply to my post then. If you don't like my repeative question then keep scrolling! But thanks though :-)

Maybe if you'd keep scrolling we wouldn't have this problem.
