Normal 6 week pp appointment? c-section ladies?

I had my 6 week appointment today. I was expecting my OB to check internally to make sure everything had healed up, because although I had a c-section I did fully dilate and push for 2 hours so I just expected that she'd check to make sure everything closed back up properly and stuff.

Nope. Didn't check anything. Didn't even look at my incision in fact.

Really all we did was discuss birth control options...

I realize I should have asked if I had any doubts about her not checking, but it was like all of a sudden the appointment was over and it caught me off guard so I didn't ask.

I don't feel like I have any cause for concern. My incision looks normal to me and I have nothing going on to make me think that my uterus isn't healed...but still.

Anyone else experience this? Should I be concerned at all and ask her to check when I go back next week for my birth control?\

I just had my 6week. She looked at the incision and did a finger check to feel the inside and also checked my breasts. We did BC options too. I'm not due for my pap till march so she didnt do anything else.

Wow i'm really surprised at all the Drs who didn't do internals. I've delivered with 3 different practices and each time my 6 wk checkup was exactly like my yearly.

I just got home from my 6 wk. She did an internal, checked my incision, breasts, discussed bc, and diagnosed me with ppd.

At my 6 week, they looked at my incision, they checked my blood pressure, weighed me, talked about birth control, assessed for PPD.

They didn't do an internal on me, I didn't think anything of it.

My ob did a 2 week incision check and said I don't need to come back until June for my annual exam. I can go back earlier for birth control if I want.

I had a 4 week check up. She checked my incision and did an internal check. I was also still bleeding pretty heavily at the time but the nurse didn't know that and set the room up for an internal.

I had a one month appointment post c section and it was pretty much the same as you described, doctor asked some questions like how my bleeding was and discussed birth control, no exam.

I've had 3 c/s...haven't had my 6 week check up yet with this baby. I'd get a pap, incision check and discuss BC options after my other 2 kids. It was a pretty quick visit.

Haven't had mine yet, but my Dr said it will be like my normal yearly exam. So there will be a pap involved, obviously.

I just had my 7 week appointment. I had a pap, but they only did that because I was due. They discussed BC, asked how I was doing, and checked my incision.

I had my 6 week checkup today. I also had to go have a csection after 3 hours of hard pushing. My dr did internal and external exams today, and checked on my incision. We also discussed BC options and I took a PPD survey.
