Hard to believe that my c-section is already scheduled and on the books for June 3rd at 7:30 am:) Any one else have theirs scheduled?? Can't wait to meet my little princess and it is still hard to believe i am 1/2 way thru this pregnancy!!!
Wow that seems crazy early - but i guess if you don't have any complications why not get it on the books. My OB's don't schedule more than 3 weeks out becuase things can change. But if all goes as planned i'll either be June 3rd or 5th Happy 1/2 way done day!
I was just wondering this the other day... when do they schedule the C-section? I have an appointment next Friday and plan on asking then. That's great that you were able to schedule yours! I am such a planner so the earlier I can schedule, the better. But I'll also be understanding if they wait until it gets a little closer.
Wow, that does seem early. My OB doesn't schedule until 30 or 32 I think, unless there's a complication that they're watching and know they need to do it earlier than 39. That's cool though. It definitely must seem more real now!
I am hoping to get mine booked by next month. Reason being, I have terrible anxiety and if I don't get the first appointment of the day I know I will be a wreck till my appointment time. Last time they gave me anxiety meds and I don't like those while breastfeeding.

Totally agree! I was the first last time and am praying for that again. I was so anxious and it was scheduled for 7 a.m. I don't think i'll be able to hang until the afternoon.
@LoHerrim I am voluntarily switching to Heparin from Lovenox. I love the Lovenox but my insurance told me I could have one month of Lovenox or three months of Heparin and I am cheap....
My OB is crazy busy....i had to see the PA a couple times so at my last appointment i made all of my appointments up until the day we have the baby:) It does seem real now that it is scheduled and now knowing we are having a girl and have a name picked out it feels even more real!! I am just glad i got in on Tuesday first thing instead of having to wait till Thursday of that week!! I am also a planner and i wanted to get my mom figured out with watching our 6 year old and it is the last week of school for her so it is going to be a busy start of June!!!!
That's the one bad thing about me trying for a VBAC. I could still end up with a c-section but it won't be scheduled until I'm after 40 weeks or if I go into labor and fail to progress and need a repeat c/s after all.
I am seriously considering scheduling a C-section for my twins because I am deathly afraid of delivering one vaginally and needing an emergency C-section for the other. I still have a ways to go and a lot of talks to have with my OBs (and positioning is everything), but sometimes I wish someone would just tell me tomorrow I need to have a C-section so I can just adjust to the idea and plan for it. I am not allowed to go past 38 weeks either.
Wow! That's seems so early to already have scheduled but must be a big relief. It's so nice to know and be able to plan. My Dr won't schedule mine until the last 3 months (most likely in the final month) based on baby's growth and development. But it is crazy to think we are 1/2 way there!!! Congrats!
I meant to ask this at my last appointment, but I met with the MW, not one of the OBs, and I knew I'd have to talk with one of them anyway. I'll ask in a few weeks to see what plan we can put together.

This was my situation with my last pregnancy. From about 37 weeks on I was kind of a wreck because of all the uncertainties. I really really didn't want to end up with another c-section, scheduled or not, but not knowing how things were going to end up drove me crazy. I ended up with a RCS at 41 weeks because I never went into labor. This time I have no choice because my doctor doesn't do VBA2C so it'll be a scheduled section. I'm pretty sure though that with my luck I'll end up going into labor before 39 weeks and I won't get the benefit of the convenience of planning for a scheduled c-section. Oh well! As long as everyone's healthy no complaints here.
I had my 20 week appt and my dr was strongly encourging me to pick and date and get it scheduled ASAP. She will do any date we want provided there is an OR available. So now we just need to decide- May 30 or June 1? What birthdate do I want to stick this kid with? Also don't want to schedule too late and him to come earlier! GL ladies!
They booked mine last week at my 20 week appointment the doc told me that dates are filling up very quickly! They scheduled mine for 39 weeks which will be 13th of June! This is my 3rd c section!
My doc doesnt do vbac so i will have another c section she is super busy unless there is a complication or anything she usually schedules it at 39 weeks! I am hoping to last 39 weeks this time around last pregnancy LO was born at 37 wks 2days i had a scheduled c section at for 39weeks but LO had other plans and my BP was extremely high so she was delivered emergency c section at 37 wks 2days!
I'm going to try to schedule mine at my next appointment later this month. I'd like to know way far in advance to plan now. I'll have it at 39 weeks, which is 18 weeks away. And for some reason, 18 weeks seems a lot sooner than 4 months lol.
Mine was scheduled yesterday after my a/s at precisely 39 weeks -- so June 20th. However, I went into labor at 37w4d with DD and OB said it's likely that I will go early with this one too....so not sure the point of scheduling other than to get on her books and then hope she is on-call if (and when) I go into labor earlier.
Feb siggy challenge- SO is a twatwaffle, so here is me & DD instead

You could choose by which birthstone you would rather have in a mothers ring
I'm a FTM and having a C-Section for medical reasons. I had a large fibroid tumor in my uterus (about the size of a small basketball). About 8 years ago I had a myomectomy to have it removed. They had to carve it out and piece my uterus back together and weren't sure if I would ever be able to have kids. Luckily, I healed well and IVF brought us this baby, but my Dr is adamant that a C section is my only option as they believe my uterus could rupture during labor.
I can't imagine many women choosing a c section over a vaginal birth if it weren't for a medical reason. It's major surgery with a much longer recovery time.
Ok I have to ask why is everyone schedulingC sections? I understand if medical reasons.
I just had my 20 week appt and myDr has said nothing about C sections yet. I am hoping not to have one.
Just wondering why everyone is scheduling or if it is due to a reason.
This! I understand if your are a STM (or more!). But all you ladies have had one c-section already? I'm so confused!
I am scheduling a csection due to the trauma of my dd's birth and the urging if my doctor. DD had shoulder dystocia and broke her collarbone during delivery. As much as I would prefer a vaginal delivery, I can't, in good conscience, take that risk when it impacts the possible health and well being of my baby.
I would assume any other mothers scheduling csections now are likewise also doing it for medical reasons.
I haven't scheduled mine yet but my dr already told me it will be at 39 weeks which would be June 5! he hasn't said anything about needing to go ahead and schedule it yet but all y'all talking about things booking up makes me feel like I need to call him!!! I am 22 weeks today so only 17 more weeks to go eeeeekkk!!!

Thanks. I figured for mommy's who had problems with other deliveries. And medical reasons. It just seemed like a lot of ladies posting so it made me question!
i am having a c-section since my first was a c-section and with how everything went the first time both my Dr. & i have decided another c-section would be best
I am having a repeat c section (95% sure) because I had to have an emergency c section with DD after 36 hours of labor. Baby was facing sideways and wouldn't budge. DS is measuring ahead and will likely be a bigger baby. Dr gives me a low likelihood of being able to deliver naturally this time. DH is prompting me for a scheduled date, go right in for surgery and have my baby in my arms. Versus laboring and ending up with a c section anyway... Hard decision, because I feel like I am missing part of the experience of birth...
Re: csection scheduled already!!
Happy 1/2 way done day!
ETA: mine are twins and my OB said 38w max, so I'm thinking it will be May 21
