It's totally ok to refuse internal exams. They don't actually give you any useful information. They tell you how favorable you are for induction but you can wait until that option is on the table to do internal exams.
I only got exams when my membranes were swept @ 41 weeks and I got induced at 42.

Yep! Totally normal, usually lasts about 24 hours. And yes, those exams hurt!! Not just while the doctor is doing it, but also afterwards with all of the cramping and BH contractions. I've been dreading it every week, but I keep having the exams because I'm just so curious to find out how things are progressing!
