Short version: Abigail arrived Saturday at 2:11am weighing in at 5lbs14oz and 18 inches long and is the cutest thing!

Long version: went for my Friday weekly check up, growth scan, and nst. I was happy to go in because it seemed like movement slowed down some. The growth scan wasn't great. It showed barely any growth in 2 weeks and put her below the 10th percentile in size and her amniotic fluids were low again. The nst showed movement but the nurse had to buzz her like 5 times. The doc came in and started with setting an induction date for next week but decided that why wait and surprised me with lets do it today. She was showing less movement, not growing enough, and I was almost 39weeks. After picking my jaw off the floor, he called the hospital and told me to get dh and bags and head on over. We got to the hospital about 2pm, pitocin by 3pm and 4-5cm dilated within a few hours. I was 3cm dilated at the doc office that morning. At 6pm, the doc came by and broke my water. That got everything moving and the contractions became unbearable and 2-3 minutes apart. I never planned to ever go med free and it was one of the first things I told the nurse, I want an epidural. At this point, apparently, every pregnant lady on the floor went into labor at once and there wasn't a nurse or anesthesiologist anywhere. I never knew there could be that kind of pain!!! I just screamed the whole time. It took 3 hours until I finally got an epidural. I did get iv meds after about 1-2 hours that I didn't want originally but needed something, even though those just made me feel drunk and in extreme pain. I was checked right after the epidural and was 8cm. Never imagined going that far without the meds! Within another hour or two, I was fully dilated. Waited till I was ready to push but that never really happened. At about midnight, the nurse decided to have me start pushing. I had a very difficult time, I couldn't feel anything. They kept telling me to push like I had to poop. No idea what I was doing instead but thought I was doing that. Doc came about 1:30ish and started saying this might turn into a csection if I don't get her out soon. She was having dips with her heartbeat during contractions and he wanted her out. He felt she was small enough that I should be able to deliver soon and avoid the csection. About 2am, doc decided it was time to get her out and used the vacuum. Two contractions later and Abigail was here! 1/18/14 at 2:11am. Little and perfect. I have a second degree tear. The next day I developed a big bladder infection and the post delivery contractions had me asking for another epidural, guess the nurses thought I was kidding. Luckily , because of the tear and infection, I was given Percocet for the pain. We are home but having to get her checked daily for jaundice levels due to them being high. If they don't start improving or gets worse, she will be re-admitted. She also failed her hearing screening, twice. So need to go back in two weeks to have that rechecked. Between the jaundice and Abby thinking my boobs are pillows, we have to supplement with a little formula. The lactation specialist has me using nipple shields and adding formula to them through a syringe. So she is getting food while still trying to get her to feed by the breast. She is down to 5lbs 6oz but doc said that wasn't a big lose. She is just so small and sweet. It is amazing watching dh with her too!! After a long struggle with infertility, a miscarriage, and difficult pregnancy, I wouldn't change a thing just to be sure I had this little girl in our lives! So inlove. And now a few pics. Sorry if sideways or upside down (mobile).
