My DH and I have plans to go over to my MIL's house for DH's 4YO sister's bday tonight. My MIL texted us this morning saying that DH's step dad has a cold, but he will stay away from LO. Our little guy is almost 5 weeks old. Would you still go? I don't want to risk our baby getting sick- but I don't know if I'm being over-protective if we don't go. What would you do?

    It has been decided! We are not going! I'm too anxious about it, and my MIL just called and was understanding about it. Thanks for the feedback :)

    ETA - and sorry for the short post. DH and I were still going back and forth about it when my MIL called and changed her tune saying she didn't mind if we didn't come!

    I don't even think I would send DH, he will either get sick or also covered with germs when he comes home...skip it! At least mil is reasonable!!! Mil- ftw. (Rare event ;)
