Finally Feeling More!

I have an anterior placenta, so I have not had the pleasure of feeling Olive move all the time yet. I know that some people would smack me for saying this, but I can't wait to feel regular movements all the time. (Obvious FTM moment, I know.)

With that said, I have been able to start feeling her just a bit more lately! It's pretty much on schedule with when I eat meals, and always low and in the center.

Today I was pretending to read a book, but really I was sleeping for pretty much the whole afternoon. When I woke up, I had to pee due to the entire water bottle that I had drank before falling asleep. I had the strangest feeling after going to the bathroom that Olive was doing a full body stretch now that she finally had room in there.

Best feeling ever. :)

  • I have an anterior placenta as well, and it's just been over these past 2 wks that  i have really been able to feel her kick and wriggle around in there. at first it was mainly feeling her doing flip flops on the inside, but we have recently graduated to feeling kicks on the outside.  it's incredible as a FTM to finally get to feel those little evidences.
DH has yet to feel it though.  the sensation is so much stronger for me since i am feeling it from the inside out.
  • I love the name Olive! So sweet :)

Thanks! I'm not going to lie- it's from the stupid baby tickers that say what size your baby is each week. I was telling DH during one of the first weeks "Our baby is the size of an olive!" and we both started calling her "Baby Olive."

I guess Baby Papaya doesn't have such a good ring to it. ;)
  • That's exciting! I don't think it's weird that you are excited to feel regular movement. I am a STM and I love feeling LO move. It's such a cool experience!

DH hasn't been able to feel Olive move for me either. But since I love having my belly rubbed, I always grab his hand and make him pretend to feel it. Lucky he's a good sport.
  • So great! I have an AP too, so I've been feeling things more and more lately. Congrats! Olive is such a cute name

Oh so, is that going to be her real name or is that just a pet name for now?

Real name. Facebook and Family official. I just never thought we'd be inspired by something so simple as that.
  • I too have that dreaded anterior placenta! Argh! I have been feeling her the last two weeks as well and more consistently in the last four or five days. It's really the coolest thing ever! I just hate that she is so low I don't know what she is kicking.... My cervix? Haha. I can't wait til dh can feel her.

  • It's an exciting feeling and a constant reminder that baby is still there and doing well so def not weird! I just watched my belly shift around from the outside which made me lol by myself. Such an exciting feeling!
  • I also have an anterior placenta and just this week have been able to consistently feel movement:) I feel it most at night when I lie down in bed and usually just below my belly button. I have waited almost 24 weeks for this and I am super excited about it! My SO also felt it last night for the first time and that was an amazing moment to share!
  • I also have an AP and it wasn't until a week ago I even got any feeling but now I get a few a day- feels like a bubble popping in my stomach. I'm a FTM too so exciting!!!

  • I have an AP also. The last couple weeks I've been feeling very light kicks. The last couple days it's been getting stronger. Last night I was laying on the couch watching a movie and was able to feel it out on the outside several times! Such a neat, strange, amazing feeling!

    Congrats!
  • I'm also an anterior placenta girl. I'm actually feeling her right at this moment. It feels like someone is tickling me from the inside. I feel her every couple days but certainly not consistently yet. I'm really hoping I feel her more and more, and also that one of these days, my DH will be able to feel her too.

It's strange how everyone experiences movement. I haven't felt the tickling or flutters yet, just kicks.

I like what one person said about it feeling like bubbles. That's exactly how I would describe it.

My friend who has 2 sons described it as feeling like someone was trying to claw their way out from inside your belly, but she hated being pregnant, so I didn't put much stock into her description. ;)

Yeah I guess I would say it feels like bubbles popping to me, but against the front of my belly lol.
