  My cats are annoyed to have another loud little being in the house. My one cat acts out by meowing incessantly and trying to step on the baby while I breastfeed.

  My dog licks her any chance she gets, my cat could care less but she loves sleeping cuddled up to the nursing pillow. What breed is your dog? If it has any type of herding breed in it at all that's where the nipping at the heels will come from. Babies sound like baby animals and herding is hardwired in some breeds brains. Get your H to hold the dog and you sit on the floor first. Once the dog is calm get your H to take the dog back a few feet and then add baby. Once the dog is calm bring it over.
  
  This worked for my dog. Once you establish a boundary of how close they can get they start to learn.

  She's a one year old German Shepherd. I will try the boundaries thing. Cuz the first time she tried jumping on LO and me I freaked.

  @aundrea1225 if she jumps while you are wearing LO as soon as she is about to jump hold your hands palms down open hand near your waist. When she gets to your hands push down on her head. If you let her come all the way up on you and then you push her off she will always think she can get all the way up. So if you put a limit on how far she can come up she soon won't see the point if she can't get hear your face for kisses. I had to use this on my lab from the day I got her because she was a jumper.

  My dog is jealous but not aggressive about it. She keeps her distance mostly, but she sniffs her every now and then. Hopefully once LO can interact she will start to like her more.

  Our dogs have adjusted pretty well. They are somewhat curious and will nap with her some times. Mostly, I think they want to be near DH and me. We've worked consistently to train them to be calm around her. We have a dog bed in the nursery, so they have a spot. We started a few weeks before she was born. When they go in and sit on their bed they would get a small treat, now they just go in and quietly lay down. It took several weeks though. PP's suggestion on boundaries is good, consistency and praise go a long way with it too!

  My dog, a Lab, is protective and nonchalant about her at the same time. She's picky about when she feels which way. She LOVES kids, just hasn't had any experience with a newborn. When Ari is older and responds to the dog, they'll be best friends. Our dog sleeps through the night in our room now (where baby sleeps) where before she'd leave in the MOTN to go to her crate. Savannah (the dog) lays by her bassinet and bouncer, tries to lick her all the time, but isn't as crazy as we thought she'd be. We also did the "alpha dog" thing PP mentioned.

  We haven't had any problems, the dogs like to lick his feet. Occasionally they go to lick his face which I say no to. They already have a comand to "leave it" so I've had to say that a few times. If you don't have a comand for that mybe try teaching that to the dog then you can apply to baby when they get too close ?
