sudden weaning

Has anyone's baby suddenly weaned? I had mastitis last week and my DD suddenly refuses to breast. She is now even taking a bottle from me. Previously she wouldn't even take a bottle if I was in the house!

    Just happened here too!  DD would refuse any type of cup or bottle and then suddenly got interested in her 2yo bro's cup and hasn't turned back since!  It was crazy.

    my goal was to transition to WCM around a year. I am unsure if I should try to complete the transition now or if that isn't enough nutrition for her. What are you doing?

    Doc gave me the clearance with #1 (the 2yo boy) to give WCM at 10 months when he started to refuse nursing, so I've done the same with DD and she's a few days away from 11 months.  Beats trying to find formula or something for only a couple months.  Doc was convinced they would get plenty of nutrition from the milk and foods they eat..both have been great eaters and not picky at all.

    when is LO turning 1? DS is turning 1 on Feb 10th, I have not switched him to WCM yet and probably wont until late feb / early march just because we are going on vacation and its easier not to...but if i were in your situation, I may try to just switch now..i dont think a few weeks makes a difference, esp if you can go like half and half for a bit and ease into it.

    I think I am just going to try switch. I started giving her a little WCM last week with meals because nursing was so painful. She will be one February 8th. I hate the pump and have a decent freezer supply to help with the transition. She has never had formula so I don't know that I want to bother at this point.

    Yeah I did half milk half water or you could do half WCM with half breastmilk or whatever for a few days first.  Mine turns 1 Feb. 28.
