Did my water break?

I was sleeping, and woke up and felt wet down there. Like I had wet the bed. My underwear and pants were wet and my sheets were damp. There was so urine smell though? I went to the bathroom and laid back down. Could it be my water breaking or sweat?

If you walk and squish out liquid then your waters broke. If you have a doubt then call your doctor.

I agree with the PPs call your doctor. It could be your water or it may not.

Had a similar experience but dr. suggested I put a pad on and if I leak thru it within 1-2 hrs then it was definitely my water since you continue to leak... If not, then you peed your pants. Needless to say my pad stayed dried and DH got the joy of making fun of me

My water broke in the middle of the night with my first and it awoke me from a very deep sleep. It was a HUGE, warm, wet gush. Usually when your water breaks more fluid will continue to come out with every contraction. I was still getting leakage at the hospital. However, it can be a slow leak sometimes, so I would suggest going in to get swabbed for the presence of amniotic fluid. The doc will be able to tell you right away.
