I've been a lurker on The Bump since I was pregnant with my son in 2009 and decided now that I'm halfway through pregnancy number 2, it might finally be time to do an intro... What can I say, I'm slow to warm up!
I'm a NY native, recently-ish transplanted to sunny SoCal. I love it here. It's going to be 78 degrees today and I have a palm tree in my back yard, what's not to love?
I'm an early thirties, very, very PT working, mostly SAHM mom to DS (4), two adorable cats that drive me nuts, and expecting a DD (!!!) on our around June 3. Which makes me 21 weeks tomorrow. My DH works in film and TV (he's not an actor, don't get excited) and he is always working. In fact, he's probably leaving for a job in 2 weeks that will keep him across the country until right before baby is due. Never a dull moment here.
My areas of "expertise": moving houses (my record is 4 times in 14 months) with a toddler, post-partum depression and anxiety, regular old depression and anxiety, living in small spaces with a kid, living in cities, coping with a workaholic spouse, plastics and chemical paranoia, acquisition and use of comfortable sweatpants, and cleaning cat pee out of rugs. I'd rank myself kinda high on the crunchy scale, but my kid sleeps in his own bed and I like it that way.
I try to keep up on the posts, and I try to respond when I have a useful opinion, but usually all the smart and lovely ladies here say what I would've said before I have a chance to reply. I mostly bump on my phone, in the middle of the night during bouts of insomnia.
I will probably never figure out how to add a ticker or photos or GIFs. I just tried to change my avatar from the stock nest thing and I don't think it worked. I'm sorry? I'm computer challenged.
Nice to meet you all, and looking forward to getting to know you better.
