Did any of you use the Shettles Method while ttc? I attempted to use it, but I am conviced I conceived on my ovulation date. There's no way to prove that. Anyway, some people swear by it. If you did use it, did you get the result you were aiming for?

Re: Shettles Method
With DS I'm pretty sure it was exactly O day and with DD1 I have no idea...

I think the ovum only can be fertilized for 24 hours, so technically we all conceive on our ovulation day (TTC nerd here
) so Shettles depends on when the sperm was deposited.
We were going to use shettles to try for a boy, so we should have had sex on O day, but it didn't happen, so we ended up conceiving with sperm that was from sex 2 days prior to O, which, according to shettles should be more likely to produce a girl...and yet, we got a boy!
The girls on the "sway blue" or "sway pink" boards got a little crazy with the shettles and the alkaline/acidic diets though.
Shettles is actually one of the few (possibly only?) method that's actually got some science behind it, and has been proven to be marginally effective in scientific studies. It still only improves your chances from 50/50 to something like 45/55 but for some people that's enough to try
